My dream setlist for Thursday would be filled with B sides and less popular songs, but I definitely see where you're coming from.
Thursday Setlist at iLounge at Clutch Cargos, Pontiac This is what they played last time I saw them. Was an incredible set. I was lucky enough to see them open twice for TBS and then this show using the No Devolucion era.
If I asked you for a fifteen song setlist from Thursday that you'd wanna see, could you do it? Open question if anyone is interested btw
Damn, limiting this to 15 was so hard. In order: Even the Sand is Made of Seashells Panic on the Streets of Health Care City The Lovesong Writer Into the Blinding Light Time's Arrow A Gun in the First Act Dead Songs Voices on a String Ian Curtis Past and Future Ruins A Darker Forest Autobiography of a Nation Autumn Leaves Revisited ENCORE: How Long is the Night (extended outro version) We Will Overcome I forgot An Absurd and Unrealistic Dream of Peace... I need to squeeze that in somewhere. I also need to squeeze in Ladies and Gentleman: My Brother, the Failure. Hmmm. Honestly, I don't know what I would take out. Maybe We Will Overcome or A Darker Forest. Probably those two, but I think I like it as is. Actually, I'm not sure. But that's close enough. Let's just make the set 17 songs?
In no order, here's 15 I would love to see: Steps Ascending Lovesong Writer Autumn Leaves Revisted Tomorrow I'll Be You Running from the Rain Love Has Led Us Astray You Were the Cancer Magnets Caught in a Metal Heart How Long is the Night Times Arrow We Will Overcome Stay True A Gun in the First Act No Answers As He Climbed the Dark Mountain Autumn Leaves Revisted is the song I most want to see them play.
this is probably the only band i can think of of which i want less from the nostalgic favorite. i've listened to cross out the eyes as much as any other song over the last however many years but god damn do i wanna hear subway funeral. my ideal 15-song set list, in no order this side of brightness understanding in a car crash standing on the edge of summer marches and maneuvers asleep in the chapel steps ascending war all the time the other side of the crash telegraph avenue kiss voices on a string as he climbed the dark mountain subway funeral fast to the end magnets caught in a metal heart empty glass
Autobiography of a nation Hole in the world Steps ascending Millimeter Division st Sugar in the sacrament Tomorrow I'll be you An absurd and unrealistic dream of peace Running from the rain Last call Sparks against the sun Ian Curtis You were the cancer Turnpike divides Cross out the eyes
Here's mine: No Answers Turnpike Divides You Were the Cancer A Gun in the First Act Past and Future Ruins For the Workforce, Drowning Common Existence As He Climbed the Dark Mountain Last Call At This Velocity Into The Blinding Light Running from the Rain The Other Side of the Crash/Over and Out (Of Control) Subway Funeral War All of the Time
I would love to listen to all these setlists, damn. What a great discography this band has. I'm gonna post mine when I get home later tonight
Stay True The Other Side of the Crash Autobiography of a Nation Division St Running from the Rain Magnets Caught in a Metal Heart This Side of Brightness Jet Black New Year Autumn Leaves Revisited Paris in Flames Understanding in a Car Crash Steps Ascending -- How Long Is the Night? Turnpike Divides War All the Time
This was a lot harder than I thought. I'm indifferent about ND, so nothing from there. For the Workforce, Drowning Streaks in the Sky Sugar in the Sacrament Understanding in a Car Crash Cross Out the Eyes Telegraph Avenue Kiss Paris in Flames Love has Led us a Stray I am the Killer War All the Time The Lovesong Writer You Were the Cancer Falling Bomb (Geoff solo) Time Arrow (Geoff solo to start, whole band kicks in mid-song) Autumn Leaves Revisited
It was very hard to make this list but here goes... For The Workforce, Drowning Understanding In A Car Crash Steps Ascending No Answers Jet Black New Year Tomorrow I'll Be You Paris In Flames Division Street Beyond the Visible Spectrum Past and Future Ruins Friends in The Armed Forces Cross Out The Eyes How Long is the Night The Lovesong Writer Turnpike Divides
For The Workforce, Drowning The Other Side Of The Crash Cross Out The Eyes Magnets Caught In A Metal Heart Beyond The Visible Spectrum Paris In Flames Running From The Rain Signals Over The Air At This Velocity No Answers Jet Black New Year Resuscitation Of A Dead Man Understanding In A Car Crash --- War All The Time Turnpike Divides
But in all seriousness, I tried to make it a good blend of their discography, what they're likely to play, and what I'd love to hear. Like, sure, I like a handful of other songs on Full Collapse more than Cross Out The Eyes, but that song is still great and I can't imagine a Thursday set without it
so 15 songs we'd want. ok For The Workforce, Drowning Paris In Flames Millimeter Into The Blinding Light Resuscitation Of A Dead Man No Answers Jet Black New Year War All The Time Division St Ladies and Gentlemen: My Brother, The Failure At This Velocity Friends In The Armed Forces Understanding In A Car Crash Cross Out The Eyes You Were The Cancer
In Silence Stay True For The Workforce, Drowning Cross Out the Eyes The Other Side of the Crash Sugar in the Sacrament Signals Over the Air Resuscitation of a Dead Man An Absurd and Unrealistic Dream of Peace Magnets Caught in a Metal Heart Love Has Led Us Astray You Were the Cancer Understanding in a Car Crash Autumn Leaves Revisited Turnpike Divides I made this setlist in mind with trying not to be too heavy on any particular album, or else I'd just call it a discography show or something. The order really only matters for the first and last three and the encore lol it was hard to sequence otherwise. I almost put in Dying in New Brunswick but decided to put in Love Will Tear Us Apart instead. I feel like this set isn't that farfetched but idk
Philly friends! I'll be at the show tonight so say hello and hang out if you want! Also, love the b-sides people are throwing in their setlists. Ladies And Gentlemen, In Silence, and An Absurd And Unrealistic Dream are all great songs
