literally last week me and my girlfriend were wondering what touche was gonna do this spring, whether they do a headliner or opening slot for a bigger band. glad we got our answer
I was lucky enough to see Thursday 3 times their "last" year. Twice with TBS and once on the farewell tour. Seeing the ND songs was incredible, which is a bummer they probably won't be playing a ton from it this time around.
No way! Can't quite believe I completely missed that! Last time I saw them in the uk was as support for the rise against tour and that was after CE.
I've been listening to Thursday non-stop since December 30 and I have to say... Common Existence is tied for best/favorite Thursday album. I like it as much as No Devolución. The flow from one song to the next is phenomenal and there are so many severely underrated tracks like "Time's Arrow" and "Love Has Led Us Astray." There's an energizing maturity to the lyrics that isn't found on their earlier albums. The instrumentation/arrangement also took a step forward in terms of developing atmosphere that sounds organic, which is part of the reason why "Beyond the Visible Spectrum" works so well. Granted, there's no clear standout track that says, "okay, we're getting experimental," like "Autumn Leaves Revisited," but I think that's what makes the creativity on CE so compelling. While I still think A City by the Light Divided is phenomenal, it's been bumped down a notch in my book. When CE first came out, I felt this way, but that switched years ago and it's taken me a very long time to come back to this opinion, which I'm now convinced is the right one.
Thank you!!! Got a floor ticket for Chicago. I have adored this band for over a decade and this will be my first time seeing them live.
I just received an email from Alternative Press with the password APTHURSDAY for their presale in case anyone still needs tickets.
