He did have a lot of people on ignore probably. Considering he never replied to any of his criticisms.
honestly dude is probably the nicest guy on the site, never fought back even when everyone shit on him
That could also be it. He was very passionate about the music he loved, and I do give him credit for that.
What was it he said that made Jason put him on ignore? Jason said he was the first user he ever ignored haha. He's probably on Sputnikmusic since they're a little more his style
They didn't play Turnpike because they were out of time, which was kind of lame because I would've much rather heard that than Autobiography. But holy shit were they phenomenal, they looked like they were having a ton of fun and they still sound so good.
Also even though everyone in the crowd was super into all of the stuff they played, I wish they would've played something post ACBTLD.
Yeah, kind of a weird setlist. Not a single ND or CE song feels like an odd choice. (Ultimately still beyond ecstatic to have Thursday back, though)
Even though CE is my favorite Thursday album, I still love that setlist. Would be more than content with seeing them play that.
already starting to sour a little bit based on these setlists, heh. just a little, it's still thursday, but it's so obvious what they're doing here. hopefully just because these were the first shows back it'll be like this and for the holiday they'll diversify it a lot more rather than basically trying to hit those nostalgia feels of a majority of their fans
Geoff made a comment something like "wow some of you guys knew the words to that one" after they played either Circuits or Beyond at the first show. Kind of got the vibe they don't want to play much from the latter two records because they don't get the best reactions from the crowd which is a bummer.
yeah, it's pandering to the crowd rather than playing what they want to. i mean i get that to a point (especially on a reunion tour) but it still bums me out that they want to do it
Crowds would die during ND songs on their last tour, which was a huge bummer. With them reuniting, I can see why they mainly want to play a lot of the old stuff, especially at a festival setting like this. I hope if they end up doing a bigger reunion tour they'll add in more ND songs, but it doesn't seem likely with how much they played off of it during the tours around the time of release.
I love where the circle ends reminds me of mwy catch for us the foxes or something hah this is the first time I've listened to waiting in a really really long time
Compared to a lot of bands I feel like Thursday stayed pretty honest to their original sound throughout their 6 album discography. They evolved the sound but I always thought they "stayed true".. So it's weird to imagine being a fan that would only want to hear the first 4 records when the last two were so good
Reading this bands history it's no wonder that they don't really wanna be a full time band anymore. That taste of chaos tour in 2009 was probably really disheartening, they have been through a lot of crap too with Victory records and whatnot
I'll never forget over half the crowd (that might be an exaggeration but that's what it felt like) filing out before they took the stage in Atlanta. I was selfishly really happy at the time because I got damn near to the barricade, but it must have been a pretty big bummer for the guys.
They were so fun live but CE and ND got the shaft and I remember when they huddled deciding what song to cut, my heart sank. I was confident they'd play Turnpike Divides, but knew a Full Collapse song just won the battle. That's fine, FC is great but there were five FC songs and I could've done with just three (Paris, Understanding, Cross would've been my picks). I was hoping for these songs but was pretty sure I wouldn't get them: Resuscitation of a Dead Man, Love Has Led Us Astray, You Were the Cancer, Autumn Leaves Revisited, Magnets Caught in a Metal Heart, and Stay True. I was thinking MAYBE I might get Stay True cause Touche were around and more than one band gave them some sort of shout out. I also hoped for Geoff to get in on History Reshits Itself but hey. I can dream.
I think the Starland shows are gonna be different, they made a post specifically saying the setlist is gonna be insane so they're probably gonna work super hard to make it as perfect as possible.
Like I said earlier, just don't feel like this band or Geoff can catch a break. For a band that is so successful in the music industry he has gone through a lot!
