Opening with Empty Glass is wild. I didn't even think it'd make the setlist. Would have liked them to include Sparks and Past And Future Ruins but the 6 tracks from ND are solid (whole album is of course)

Alright so I'm at a show right now for They Might Be Giants at a venue near where I live and they have their yknow future concert schedule on tvs all around and THURSDAY flashes for a second and I'm like uhhhhh what the fuck did I just misread that, I didn't remember any dates announced closer to me than NYC.

I waited until it went back around to make sure I wasn't crazy and it showed them again, so I looked it up and yep, they seemingly have a random date in June at this venue that seems also still part of the Full City Devolucion tour??? And it's on a Sunday which I can more feasibly do than the weekday dates of the other shows??? So guess I'm buying a ticket to see them in June

  4. I’ve gotten marginally less grumpy about the setlist and it looks like my ticket isn’t gonna sell anyway so looks like I’m going tomorrow

For folks who have seen this tour: how long after doors did Thursday actually go on? I would really like to miss all of Chris Conley if humanly possible

I looked at setlist and called my venue because Thursday hasn't been posting it to their stories like they said they would... my show matched the rest on setlist... doors at 6:30, chris at 7:30, Thursday between 8:20-8:40 depending on the day... and they do a pre-recorded 5 minutes countdown thing as well before they start.

  6. Thank you! Looks like my venue is advertising 830 start time for Thursday tonight

  7. Despite my gripes with things missing from the setlist, that was a great show

I was pleasantly surprised by how many folks were in the crowd last night, and how into the No Dev/City songs they were. I still think Counting is...not great, but can't deny the pop it got. I also agree with Geoff that the last minute of Turnpike Divides is the best minute of music Thursday has composed.

I have plenty of complaints about the set list overall but can't deny how great it was to see them play 18 songs and the crowd be into almost all of them.

Geoff also looked better than I've seen him be in a long time. They were having a blast up there and Wade was -shredding- all over the set.

I'm almost 40 and was talking to someone in the crowd who was 26, and only started listening to Thursday a few years ago. Just so awesome to see all the young people in the crowd, and that they knew all the lyrics to the No Dev/City songs.

Metro not having any security at the barricade until Geoff asked for it was absolutely ridiculous tho - the first crowd surfer person was dangerously close to getting dropped before Wade grabbed them.

Just got out of the Rochester show and that was the biggest crowd I’ve seen em play in a long time, and I too was really pleasantly surprised with how into the first set the fans were. I have to imagine the FC set is the big crowd draw, but it makes me wonder why this one sold so much better than previous tours if the set list is usually a FC fest anyway, and the casual fans would probably much rather see WATT songs than city/ND. Wonder if this means more bands could draw bigger shows if they committed to playing less nostalgic albums. Or maybe they just pushed this tour more given the more overt FC focus.

i think while FC has bigger reactions there’s still a real interest in some deeper cuts even from those FC die hards

I was also surprised how packed it was last night. Not quite sold out but had to be very close. Great show as always.

I generally don't like shirts with back prints, seems to be very common lately.

Honestly every time they do a merch drop I think surely I have enough shirts with some variation of a dove and there can't possibly be anymore left that I'd be interested in and I have enough of them anyway like so many and I barely wear them out anymore cause the dove tee with the dove tattoo can feel a lil extra sometimes. But I def got the white brown tye dye-ish one at the show and I love it and now I kinda need the City map

Edit lol why don't they list how big it is tho??
