CE is so good and so underrated. It's like they took the aggression of WATT and some of spacey exploration of ACBTLD and improved on it.
CE is good, it just felt like an attempt to sound like "old" Thursday at times. Still an amazing album. Really wish I'd be able to see them this year since I don't think I can afford Riot Fest. If they do an after show I may drive down for it.
I love CE. I think of it as its own beast: it's at once the rawest and heaviest Thursday album AND a very experimental one, thanks largely to Andrew. It has some of my all-time favorite Thursday songs in As He Climbed the Dark Mountain, Beyond the Visible Spectrum, and You Were the Cancer.
The last two songs on Common Existence are unbelievable. One of the best 1-2 punches in their discography.
Dudes, I am sorry I let you down. I wish I had posted this earlier. I was on mobile when I saw it and voted and it wasn't allowing me to copy and post the link from my phone here. I love all of their music but this one just seemed like a weird result to me. Glad I wasn't alone.
I used to be absolutely all about Circuits. Not nearly as much anymore. Still definitely a good song on a great album.
Can someone explain to me the snare sound on fast to the end? It's always bothered me, I like the song and the album but the snare sound has always thrown me off
Geoff said tomorrow night's set will probably be a lot different. "more old weird stuff tonight" "No plans of a record or tour outside of what's booked this year."
