Because they're doing individual show posters? If anything, being able to buy in advance rather than have to hold it all night is great. This is a band who makes merch available to low- and no-income fans regularly. It's hardly grifting.
fwiw, I have a couple of posters from them and they are consistently screenprinted and 18x24, $22 for shipping is pretty wild though
I always think this thread is far too negative about Thursday but after a big teaser for a fucking tour poster, you might be onto something I was excited all day thinking we were going to get some overseas dates.
yea i think the critiques here are harsh, though i agree $45 for a poster, albeit cool and likely high quality one, is a *lot,* especially if one has to pay anything for shipping. but if it keeps their free ticket/merch ventures going then i get it.
Common Existence acknowledged! I think they went with the best cover but I also like that one on the street. I have a t-shirt of the photograph of the city.
I think I might prefer the 2nd photo more than what they went with but that one's also my second favorite of the lot so I can't complain, still a great album cover
Dang I like 4 way more than 2. The sideways shot of the nuns walking with the light blue is also pretty dope.
Had the chance to interview Geoff for my newsletter -- in part 2 of our convo he mentioned that Thursday has written a bunch of songs but not all of them have been good enough to release. They're taking a different approach post reunion. Geoff Rickly: I see myself on the spectrum between Kurt Cobain and Rihanna
if we got an album of new songs at/beyond the caliber of the 3 they've released over last couple yrs, i'd gladly wait another year for a full-length
Jeff’s apprehension I found so relatable as a person who’s sang for a band before. Imposter syndrome is so hard to work through. Cool to see him do it and stay positive
