Quick, someone make a joke about how we can't pump the brakes and Understanding In A Car Crash, I don't have the skill set to complete the assignment.
Count me with those who enjoy the new song. I was like 2/3 of the way through and I felt like I’ve lived with this song for years. Just feels quintessentially Thursday.
This song feels like a blend of FC and ACBTLD to me and those are my favorite albums from this band and absolute all-timers for me so it’s no surprise to me that I can’t stop listening to this
Sounded unbelievable live today at their Crossroads show in NJ. Geoff totally nailed the ending. That build up section (“how do you turn it down?”) is just so hypotonic and special. One of their best segments of music ever - it’s up there with Turnpike Divides, Paris in Flames, Tomorrow I’ll Be You…
Such a simple line but I feel a knot in my throat when he says How do you turn it down? When your friends are here and the music's on How do you turn it down?
White Bikes didn’t do much for me but I still love Application and hope to hear more new Thursday in 2025.
Also this is nothing but on the recording the line is "how do you turn it down" even though the lyrics say "how can you turn it down," which is what's Geoff and Stu are singing live.
I like White Bikes enough, but I just listened to Application for the first time today and man what a song
Yeah application is a monumental track and even better live. Can’t wait to see white bikes live next year tho, assuming they play it. Get the feeling it sounds much better in that context
I'm bummed I didn't get to see them play Application at Crossroads, but I'm assuming they'll take that out on the Silverstein tour
Big thanks to Thursday for getting me into Envy back then. The most underrated discography in the genre
So, rumor has it we’re getting another new song on 01/01. It’s supposedly called “Taking Inventory of a Frozen Lake”. If that’s the case, what’s going on here? One off singles or are these all part of an EP or could they be slow rolling a new album? I’m guessing they’re just singles or an EP at most, but you never know.
