A record selling out quickly doesn’t necessarily mean they can sell out a show specifically to that record but it may just be more the band doesn’t want to play any songs from those records
They did No Devo live stream. I assume if that did numbers they would do more of those songs live. I'm sure they have awful memories of performing CE live since that was a really rough time for the band in general. City hard to say if the fans are there or not.
I feel like ACBTLD play-through would start off well but then the fucking losers would be talking up a storm by Arc-Lamps. Middle portion of that record really breathes in a way most of their other ones don't (besides No Dev) and idk that the non-diehards are gonna pay attention Their best record though, on this hill I die
If we’re being honest, they can barely fill venues doing their most popular albums, so there’s no chance they’d ever do a non-FC/WATT album tour. This is coming from someone who loves ACBTLD the most, but I just saw their FC album tour and they couldn’t even sell out a 500-person venue in CLE last year.
Probably because it’s like the fourth time they’ve done that exact tour. They’ve oversaturated the market with the same album play shows over and over. Do I think it would sell better not advertising album plays? Probably not. Would it make a big difference though when they’ve played those albums in almost every city multiple times over the past few years? No.
Is there any chance of new Thursday music? Seeing them live a few weeks ago sounding so great made me want some more
In the past few years, Geoff's answer about this has varied from "we said everything we had to say", to "never say never", to "we had to get to a tumultuous place / fought each others a lot / secretly broke up multiple times during any writing and recording sessions" so... I'd love to hear more from them but it doesn't seem likely anytime soon.
Velocity records retweeted the "TOMORROW" post so yeah looks like it's some kind of album. Would be neat to have a new version of WATT.
Not sure I’ll go to this. I’ve seen WATT in it’s entirely before as as much as I love this band, seeing the same sets over and over is getting exhausting.
I somehow haven’t seen them live before, so I’m stoked for this show. I love War All The Time. Hell yea. Also, the vinyl is just gonna be a repress. A new one already popped up with new artwork a couple weeks ago.
WATT is my favorite and I already saw them do it on the FC/WATT tour a couple of years ago but idc. Atl is on a Sunday and I’ll be freshly back on 4 day work weeks come the new year plus Keith’s new band.
Thursday: Full Collapse/War All The Time Taking Back Sunday: Tell All Your Friends The Ataris: So Long Astoria There's probably others I'm forgetting, but yeah, if the shows are doing well, then sure, go for it for the 1000th time haha
These shows aren’t selling out though Majestic is a bigger venue choice for them and I don’t see it even getting close to selling out.
Just noticed this is in a much bigger room than the FC/WATT tour which I do not believe sold out. Maybe they know something we don’t but I’m not gonna be mad about having more personal space..lol
