Speaking of paying debts, their current tour is the freshest set list in *years.* they definitely owed us that lol nothing they haven’t played with regularity at some point or another, but given how dull the lists have gotten it felt great
I’m sure he wouldn’t as a human and legally that debt would be separate. Thursday has an LLC like any band or other small business so Collect’s creditors would not be able to come after the band for that money, just Geoff himself To the earlier comment, I highly doubt the LLC being in debt or not is a factor in whether the band releases new music. If the situation was that bad they could say it’s insolvent and try to wind it up, and worst case they have to pay a bankruptcy attorney for awhile to get it done if a creditor sues. With an LLC each member is only liable up to the point of their individual financial contribution to the LLC (which I highly doubt is much for any of the guys). They also made a new Delaware LLC in 2011 and wound up the old original NJ one so even if that poster was right it would have to be debt from No Dev to the present unless it was somehow inherited. (Which again, given how the wind up process works that doesn’t usually happen I believe. The new LLC would’ve inherited the old ones rights but probably not its liabilities I think. Just ahead I see you winding up etc etc sorry had to say it………) Also looks like the band entity paid attorneys to enforce their trademarks against some boot company called Thursday Boots in a case they filed in 2020 and settled in 2022. That doesn’t sound like an insolvent entity to me. But maybe ignore me because I got a shit grade in my Corporations and Business Associations class in law school because that shit is so boring lmao Now I guess there could be some kind of lingering contractual obligation with Epitaph that would mean any new music under the Thursday name would be owned by Epitaph? But I doubt it and also Epitaph seems like they’d work with the guys seeing as they’re technically an indie label, just a large one/maybe the largest?
ANYway, here in St. Louis there is just the slightest chill in the air in the late evenings and early morning which means this band’s discog is on repeat even more than usual
I expect this kind of treatment in the baseball thread when I drone on about a newfangled stat no one cares about BUT HERE?
such as like Jet Black New Year not being part of War All the Time as a sister song to Tomorrow I’ll Be You
I think they are doing a WATT repress right? Geoff said something about the anniversary and a repress the other night at their show in Ardmore
If they worked it out or got together the cash to buy the masters that’s news to me but hope you’re correct!
I'm surprised I haven't single handedly put them out of debt with the ridiculous amount of doves shirts I own
Universal/Island finally takes advantage of owning the masters. Where's City tho? https://shop.udiscovermusic.com/products/thursday-war-all-the-time-limited-edition-lp
Island did a repress/remaster see link a couple posts above As for what they are posting I expect some tour dates for a holiday show or something.
https://shop.udiscovermusic.com/col.../thursday-war-all-the-time-limited-edition-lp There is a new one up now
unfortunately those are the only two albums the majority of their fans resonate with / aka make any money only the true die hards fuck with ACBTLD, Common Existence, and their best record No Devolucion
I consider myself truly blessed to have gotten to see them play Running from the Rain twice last year and even getting a shoutout the second time
I could see it being a re-recording a la what Thrice did earlier this year (unless there's some rights issues there, but I don't think there would be)
I’m not sure this is even true at this point. They haven’t given the other records the time of day at all so there hasn’t been any opportunity for post-WATT fans to come support. I honestly believe a City repress would sell out in minutes.
