if i remember correctly there’s like raised bowl style seating that we were sitting in and then a floor with seats on it. feel like they’d be able to get the seats out of there for this one
Fuccccck and they’re at the Ace of Spades in sac. It’s too close to baby 2 dropping for me to go probably. Sigh
Anthology in Rochester would be the biggest venue they’ve played here in a long time, if ever. Haven’t seen Thursday outside of NJ since No Dev so I have no idea what crowds they pull still but that’s exciting. Per previous comments though, they’re definitely giving themselves the legacy/nostalgia act pull though. Feels like they could’ve put out 2 records in the time they’ve been doing special reunion shows.
Gonna need a new music announcement or something. As much as I love them, they’re still playing the same set lists. Open with Workforce, same songs off FC and WATT, one or two tracks off the last 3 albums.
I'm still wondering if they were actually working on a reimagining of Full Collapse, or if that was just a fan rumor. That one rendition they played on one of the livestreams was interesting.
Thursday's 'Full Collapse' at 20: members of Touche Amore, Deafheaven, La Dispute & more discuss the LP
That's a great read. Jeremy from Touche Amore with a choice quote about "Concealer": "hearing the frayed and desperate scream of “if you wanted to change the way I look at you” sent all of the hairs on my neck to full attention. I had certainly listened to my share of emotionally honest music but this was different. This was somehow rawer. To this day that song still gives me the same feeling. Few times in my life has an album hit me like this, but what made it different this time was this deep in my gut feeling that I needed to be a part of it." Makes perfect sense that Thursday changed his life - Jeremy's vocal style owes a lot to that one particular line of that song, I would say.
Merch drop! Shop the Thursday Official Store $20 ornament a bit too much for me. But they have Christmas sweaters! But I might have to get this $30 dove shirt.
Was gonna get tix to Philly but it sold out. Might go to Reading PA but the venue seems sketchy and I’m worried the crowd may be a bit much.
It’s not a great area of Reading, but the venue has plenty of parking if you aren’t showing up late. It’s no worse than many of the venues in Philly really.
https://www.facebook.com/thursday/posts/451152966369344 So assuming a repress of WATT/City is not likely. Perhaps Full Collapse: Revisisted/Reimagined? OH actually it's probably the physical of the Signals Live Performances. If they have been waiting for production they likely want a quick turn around between announcement and shipping. Is this another clue perhaps? Looks like a 7" by the size of the envelope. Third Man Pressing is a vinyl plant in Detriot. Third Man Pressing - Detroit Gotta be Equal Vision records who is partnered with Velocity currently.
Speaking of Velocity Records, I wonder what's going on with the new No Devotion stuff... I remember them signing to Velocity as well and we've essentially heard nothing since.
