I don't know if I can pick one favorite Thursday song. It stresses me out to think about it. The Other Side Of The Crash, No Answers, and War All The Time are all high up there though.
I had interaction with Geoff on Twitter a few times. I think he's liked about 10 of my tweets to him and has responded to around 3 of those 10 tweets. That's my Thursday story.
Story time. My friend in 8th grade(whome I had a crush on)whome I lent my The Used "In Love & Death" cd to gave me her copy of WATT. She said I might like it. My 8th grade ears didn't understand it. Workforce being my first ever Thursday song I thought it was such a bizarre song. Never really returned to the album. Then maybe 2 months later I was playing Counter-Strike, and decided to throw it on whilst playing. It clicked so hard as I was disarming bombs, and op CT's with the AK. Been in love ever since. Then later that summer after I graduated 8th grade I listened to FC all summer long. I remember vividly after coming back home from being in the pool I would throw FC on while I was drying off. I would get changed to Understanding, and it was so great. Then freshmen year was around the time ACBTLD came out. I really didn't get it at first. I had become obsessed with heavy/fast-paced Thursday so a lot of the songs didn't really resonate with me. I can say now it's probably my second fav release.
Saw them so many times over the years. Maybe every tour since FC came out. Paris was a sweet opener. But yeah, I would say Fast to the End on the ND tour was the best opener I ever witnessed.
Seen all my other fav bands(Deftones, Coheed, Thrice), but never them. Hopefully now that they're back they can tour by meee.
If they do create a new album, what do you all want it to sound like? Continue off where No Dev ended? Go back to an older sound? Do something new?
Honestly I say I would want a continuation of ND mixed with WATT, but I would love further experimentation from them even more. Maybe a orchestral song or more electronic elements could be cool.
When I saw Thursday once the opener or merch ppl for the opener (touche amore or whatever??) tried hitting on me and my friend but ignored us when we said we were 17. At the time I was offended cause I was like psh they don't just wanna talk and hang with us?! They're only interesred in hooking up?? But I guess looking back and given the scene I should be glad they weren't creepos and left us alone. I was dumb and naive. So good on you, random guys. That is my Thursday story lol.
lol. they did a tour with both Coheed and Thrice. Right after WATT came out I believe. I kind of don't want a new album because I think No Dev is perfect.
Even if it is only half as good as No Dev, I would enjoy it and love it as it'd be better than most other music coming out
True. Just one of those things where I was 16 when Full Collapse came out and changed my life.. got me into the scene and everything.. No Dev had a huge impact on my wife so it was really cool to experience that last show with her and see that the band had effected her the same way they did me. So I'm just happy with where Thursday ended at in my personal life more than anything lol.
I enjoyed that album a lot. Some disappointing songs, yep, but there's some good stuff on there for sure. Permanent Sunlight is one of my favorites.
