Nah I was back home this last year and didn't move to Philly til after the holiday shows the year before so I really wanna go to this years
I actually can't get that idea out of my head now. Kasher & Rickly alternating lines haha "day after day after day ahhhhaaaaAAAAaaaaaaa"
I think the song I'm most excited to hear for these shows is How Long Is the Night, the ending to that song is so great and I haven't heard it live yet
Sucks that the UK is only getting festival dates, anyone moaning about getting to see FC and WATT headline shows is a bit ungrateful... Also bet 100% these NYC dates are the "expect the unexpected", Thursday love overdoing the hype
Maybe the openers will be the surprise? Also to the people coming in from out of state...I would highly recommend parking in New Jersey and taking the PATH and subway into Brooklyn. I live in Jersey City and I can get to Music Hall in under an hour. It costs $11 round trip as opposed to crazy tolls and parking fees in the city. Plus I'm assuming the hotels are more reasonable. Bus would be decent too
Hmmm...I always go to the holiday shows but I don't know about New York. Although the one year, the last show of the year was in Connecticut and I went last minute on a whim and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen from them. I booked a trip to see these shows in California so I don't know about these holiday shows.
Is it actually right in the city/I’d need a parking garage? Id be driving from upstate, going to the show, then going to Hauppauge to spend the night. Wondering if it’s worth it at all to go to my sisters first, idk if there’s public transport there into Brooklyn tho.
You could take the Long Island RR into Brooklyn but it would be a couple of transfers. I've never driven to Williamsburg for a show, but there are multiple concerts in the area any given night so I'm not sure how you would do with street parking. I assume that lots are less stressful even though the prices are higher. Probably more time efficient to drive straight to Brooklyn. Worst case you park in Greenpoint and walk, or Bushwick and take the L subway for a short ride.
Kind of annoying how you can't combine both shows for one purchase order, but I got both. Don't even know if I'll be able to go when it comes to the time but might as well to be safe.
Feel like Geoff has done this quite a few times. I think there's a pretty clear line between wanting to seem accessible to fans and publicly airing grievances/throwing bandmates under the bus. There have been a few interviews I've read where he's talking specifically about other members and their lack of interest in being in the band. I'd much rather say, "yeah we tried to book a few things, but schedules didn't work out. Everyone has a family and work, blah blah" instead of what he did. He also talks about Thursday as "my band" and it's always kinda rubbed me the wrong way.
Anyone going to the NYC shows get their e-tickets yet? I received the email confirmation but no actual PDF with tickets and nothing shows up in the MyAXS account either. I wonder if it's intentionally being delayed.
