That is a neat note. I always thought it was Geoff pushing for those elements.

 

Yeah, it's weird, I feel like I remember Geoff being the one that wanted to push that new direction during the promo work for ND, but now it's coming out that he didn't want to at all

 

Idk why it would've been geoff, he doesn't really write the music

 

Didnt he used to write guitar parts? I can try to find a source for that but I thought that came out when ND did

 

He used to contribute but he was never doing the heavy lifting I don't think

 

I always thought that until ACBTLD, he wrote the majority of everything...

 

Man this Envy split ep was so good...

 

Listening to the first United Nations LP contextually knowing that it could've been what we had instead of A City By the Light Divided / a lot of those songs were cut from City is so weird. Like, this is Thursday in another universe. And then knowing on top of that that this is what Geoff wanted, but that double album was kicked around....that double LP would've been messy but also excellent, I think.

 

I wonder if the double LP would have been one half what United Nations was and the other half what ACBTLD was.

 

I don't think so just because the United Nations LP is shorter than City and their combined length isn't really THAT long for a double album, roughly 80 min. It'd be a pretty strong regular album if it was half and half though, and I guess for anyone who loves At This Velocity it'd be a treat.

I think the contrasting production choices might be the weirdest thing though, there's not really any of the atmospheric stuff to speak of on this UN album

 

Well I'm beyond grateful to have gotten the album we did. ACBTLD is one of the best albums ever

 

For sure, a rare case where having your cake and eating it too doesn't suck. I'm glad both are out there

 

I really hope that they decide to make music.

 

Like I'd throw down big cash on an indiegogo or whatever.

 

I'd pay a ridiculous amount of money for it.

 

Just a reminder how fucking good Common Existence is

 

I'd prefer to see them play that start to finish than any other Thursday record.

Been wanting to get a tattoo the Thursday dove ever since I started listening to the band over fifteen years ago.

 

Anybody seen any other Thursday tattoos that’s not the dove or script? Thought about getting the target logo from ACBTLD. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

ill probably get another thursday tat at some point. ive had my dove for what, 7 years now
