Idk I’d be hesitant to go to a tour that had quicksand that shit is dangerous I gotta say bands are really running out of gimmicks aren’t they I mean mosh pits are one thing but pits of sand that can eat you is pushing it

  3. Let's hope the quicksand doesn't reach the bar!

I fucking love Geoff/Thursday SO MUCH. That tweet is part of why they have been my favourite band for the last 14 years, they have always had such a strong, positive message and have felt different to other bands, for me. Recently with everything that's gone on with the "scene", I've felt even more thankful and proud to be a Thursday fan. I am very proud that they have been such a big part of my life and identity for such a long time. I've also been thinking a lot recently about my own political beliefs and waking up to more leftist/socialist ideas and ideals, and I connect these to Thursday's use of the collective "we/us/our" in their songs. "Our" experience is more meaningful than "I" or "my" and I am sure that is a big part of what made me attracted to them in the first place, even if I wasn't aware of it consciously.

I've been on a bit of a social media detox lately but I've still been checking their twitter feed daily just in case they announce the EU/UK tour soon...I am beyond excited for that haha. I will aim to go to at least 3-4 dates, probably more!

I am drunk, Arsenal beat Tottenham so I have been at the pub all day and I listened to Full Collapse on the way home for the first time in a few months and I fucking love that album more than anything.

I feel like when you take a break from Thursday and listen to a bunch of other bands it makes you appreciate them even more.

Am I a horrible person for only thinking it's good to very good?

By which you mean the rest of the catalog is very good to great?

    Yeah I think that's fair.

I think all of Thursday is good to very good, except Full Collapse which is a genre defining record and War All The Time, which is a masterpiece.

Their last three albums are excellent, WATT is near perfect, full collapse is half masterpiece, part meh, part bad, and waiting is petty eh

Every Thursday record is good at least, with at least three being masterpieces

I used to be of the opinion that the last three records crush the first three, and while I still think the back half of their discog is clearly the better, I think I was too dismissive of the first half since it's still very good. It's just that A City, Common Existence, and No Dev are unfuckwithable

I love all of their albums from Full Collapse to No Devolucion a ton. I'd call all three of them masterpieces and wouldn't think twice

I think CE is their best album. Time's Arrow is tremendous. All of Thursday is great to phenomenal. Even Waiting. Which, although juvenile in some ways and lacking in production, has some really great songs. Geoff is such a brilliant lyricist. His talent is so obvious in everything they've done. Same for the rest of the band.
