They posted something on Facebook last week that made it look like a tour announcement (probably/hopefully international) was incoming, but nothing so far...
this was a great read especially it being from the perspective of a woman in this scene. totally agree with Thursday being far ahead of their peers in terms of being socially conscious and far more mature.
Thursday's discography has been in constant rotation for me the last week or so. How great is Beyond The Visible Spectrum?
Phenomenal. Sometimes when I listen to Common Existence all the way through, I think it might be their best.
damn, CE love is really one of the reasons this thread is the best. Friends in the Armed Forces is, imo, one of Geoff's best vocal performances. I get chills when he reaches for those notes. one thing I love about their last two records is how confident they sound. Truly don't think any other album on their discog has them sounding as self assured in themselves. seeing old songs live reinforces that because that confidence translates and ascends songs i don't love as much to new heights for sure. unlike with other bands, that heightened love definitely stayed. I'm sure it was someone in this thread that made me dive into this band more, but to whoever it was, thanks a lot. I fell hard for Thursday and my life is genuinely the better for it
Tims part in Resuscitation Of A Dead Man is rad af and I wish he did more on that song because Tim and Geoff are like two of my favorite vocalists/lyricists ever CE is just the best
SAME i wish Daryl Palumbo and Gerard Way had been on ACBTLD like they were originally going to be as well. its wild how all of those bands are connected. plus geoff being on a circa song, anthony being on a SA song, keith buckley also being on a SA song while ETID had Daryl and Gerard on two of their songs, Pete Wentz, Brian Fallon, and Brendan Urie have also been on ETID songs. geoff produced MCRs first album and Gerard did guest vocals on Jet Black New Year, also Bert from The Used has been on a couple songs from these bands. not to mention all of them touring together. i just love it
I wish they'd play An Absurd and Unrealistic Dream of Peace live. Ugh. That song is just perfection. It might be the song Geoff sounds the best on. The way he sings: "When you raise your head And you fall down to your knees, Do you feel ashamed? We're running fast as we can Down a street with no end. Take me home!" It sends a shiver down my spine. Tucker kills it too. I've been listening to it nearly once a day for the past two weeks haha.
the way that whole scene thrived off each other is something to behold in retrospect. Geoff especially seems to have a ton of cross genre appeal in that regard. Gerard's vocals on jet black new year are really cool to me, would've been a great feature on acbtld after he was an even better vocalist. Still waiting on Geoff's band with Chris Conley haha that entire split is gold and among Thursday's best work for sure. Agree 100%
I love this band SO much I also came across Full Collapse used the other day, but my roommate was in the car so I held back on shouting the lyrics to understanding in a car crash
