not really. i used to say that but Waiting is a lot more atmospheric and post-punk influenced than FC, although those traits are all over Thursdays catalog so i guess its a moot point. ive also recently come to appreciate Waiting a lot more
i wish i loved waiting like i loved all their other albums instead of just liked it. it would help if i gave it a spin more than like twice a year but it's hard to resist the allure of like five other incredible albums you know?
very fair. I added Mass As Shadows to the Waiting tracklist since it may as well be on there anyways and thats added a new appreciation for the album as a whole. its not quite as good as the other 5 but its still pretty stellar
what's that song from? im listening to it rn as i type on youtube, and it says "long version" so im assuming there's a couple of versions of this out there too
its one of the first songs the band ever wrote, it might actually be the first song. its been subsequently added to the Waiting tracklist as either a closer or just a bonus track since its from those same sessions. its raw but its beautiful and really hints at what the band would do on CE and ND
Yeah there are some cool Slint vibes to some of this song and then now it just turned into like straight up emo and it's very very familiar and I can't put my finger what I want to compare it to...like Sunny Day Real Estate but not them idk it's cool. okay i guess im listening to waiting again tonight lmao
yeah theres lots of 90s emo on it. let me know what you think of it! its an underrated record for sure
if thursday released an album full of "serious business"-like tracks, i'd go to every date on the tour
so my iPod library got corrupted and I lost all my music and didn't get to listen to waiting as a result lol. I re downloaded every Thursday album except full collapse and waiting because I have all the others on CD. Good news is that I now had enough space to have their split with envy back on there 8)
SPIN geoff rickly saying The Ugly Organ is his favorite album of 2003 :,) the Cursive/Thursday nerd in me is so happy
I searched high and low for a way Jesse was associated with it haha. Perhaps it was his account, or his jacket, or he signed it. Nothin checks out.
