I honestly would've stopped being a band for a while if I was in their position. That would've broken my heart, for real
Really? Because the aggression and the grungy guitars on tracks like Workforce, Signals, Understanding, and Cross Out The Eyes scream Nirvana
obviously not but when Geoff has cited them as an influence then its kinda hard to deny idk why the condescension was necessary
Even if you might not hear the Nirvana influence musically, Nirvana was bigger than just music. Geoff and Thursday have absolutely carried the ethos of what Kurt Cobain and Nirvana stood for and created.
Also there's the whole thing where through the Full Collapse and WATT years, people/labels had that expectation that they'd be the next Nirvana (or so it was said on kill the house lights)
Not condescension, just literally saying that's not where my mind goes. Maybe because I resent Nirvana for being really overrated, I just don't think of watt as grungy at all.
I lose the down beat when trying to cover most of Tucker's drumming. Simply can't do it. His style of play is infuriatingly creative.
Tucker posts a lot of videos of him drumming/practicing so I think it's safe to assume that's what this is. I wouldn't read into it
This reminded me that the bridge to steps ascending is a GOAT moment and idk that alone elevates WATT but also. Standing on the edge of summer has recently been a go to song for me so idk maybe you're both right
