Hahaha, unfortunately I don't recall that. I have a beard and glasses and was wearing a Pinegrove shirt, so I looked like about 95% of the other people there
Seeing them tonight in buffalo. Haven't seen mwY since UO's farewell tour so very excited for that as well.
Curious I've many people will be here tonight , buffalo has kinda sucked in the past with regards to showing up to Thursday shows ...
Mewithoutyou were terrific, so tight. Crowd filled in more as well. Opened with red cow and January 1979
They only have three albums and an EP, so I'd say start with Garden Window, work your way forward from there, then come back to The Death Of Day. Either that or start with The Death Of Day and go forward. Garden Window and Endless Light are my favorites from them, but Disillusion and The Death Of Day have some stellar tracks as well
Crowd for Thursday was subpar, but the band sounded great. Pretty standard set list but they went nuts during blinding light.
I'm just glad there was more than 20 people there unlike their farewell tour show in Rochester; that one was rough. Great show last night. MeWithoutYou was way better than I expected; frontman has great energy.
Was at Saturday's show in Toronto and it definitely topped all of my previous Thursday shows (saying something, as they represent many of my most memorable concert memories). Varied career spanning setlist, and was my first time seeing a few songs, including You Were the Cancer. Would have loved an even bigger crowd, but DFM is a big venue, and those there were very engaged. What I'd say more than anything though was that they seemed to be having so much fun performing together. Appeared to be a lighter mood to the guys, and there was something so exciting seeing them at ease. Even moreso when Geoff talked about his sobriety and how present he feels on stage this tour.
I hope I don't create too high of expectations. I think the other thing that influenced my perception was that the last time I saw them was the farewell tour in Detroit, and the crowd was surprisingly small, and the dark cloud of break-up always makes farewell tours a bit bitter sweet for me. So this time around I was able to enjoy seeing them a lot more without assuming it'd be the last weeks they'd be playing together.
