That would be amazing. I would really really love Asleep in the Chapel or Steps Ascending, no idea if they will bust those out though. I was surprised tonight so I hope to be again. There are a few mainstays that we didn't get so I'm sure I could figure out at least half the set from that.
Ah, the return of the Thursday NYE shows! Hopefully they get better openers. To go from one year with Glassjaw, Dillinger and The Casting Out to another year with Circa Survive and Gaslight to tomorrow with Nothing and Sick Feeling is pretty lame.
Don't they hate playing Steps Ascending or something to that effect? I'm going to guess that tomorrow's setlist will have Tomorrow I'll Be You, Jet Black New Year, Understanding, Autobiography, Counting, Time's Arrow, and Turnpike Divides among other songs.
I don't know anything about it specifically other than the fact that they have only played it a few times so it obviously isn't a favorite. I won't hold my breath but I would freak out if it happens.
You're right, I think it's because that song is very personal to Geoff They did surprise me (& probably everyone else) when they played cancer tho, so who knows
I confused resuscitation with at this velocity. For some reason i thought they played both. I fully expect This Side of Brightness and Asleep In The Chapel tomorrow which bums me but I knew those would be saved for the friday show
I live in Texas and haven't seen Thursday since the Thrice/Coheed tour... Getting real envious reading this thread.
sadly the BYOB is a deal breaker since I'm coming into town from out of state, but the pizza looks great
nah, proud boys are a white nationalist group, bunch of young white kids who are horrible people, remember some dude from a band posted about a dude from it used to be tight in the NJ scene
Hopefully for the people who went last night that are also going tonight the setlist really is different. Geoff kept going on and on about how it'd be so different at the Riot Fest aftershow and the festival set. But just about every song they played on Sunday afternoon was played Saturday night. That's one thing that's always drove me mad about this band, they always claim they'll do such vast set lists but they are always almost identical.
I'll see how I feel around 4. I'm actually feeling better than yesterday, but I'm noticing the symptoms of when I usually get sick. We shall see!
Geoff also claimed in Chicago that they never did a farewell tour. I remember their tour in 2011 being marketed as their final tour, which is why I went to it.
Is Gavin McInnis the leader? I'm trying to look into all of this and how big the movement is and all I see is his face.
I tried to look into this group to find that article he mentioned and realized that they must have been talking about that guy a lot. They mentioned a Gavin a few times. I'm not sure if I can figure out this specific person but I would know it if I saw a picture.
What an odd leader to have haha. Being an O&A fan for years, I saw that Anthony had Gavin on his network. I saw one video of him and Coppercab and I was extremely confused as to what was going on. Haven't tuned in since.
It was the exact set they where playing for a long time before it. It was a great show non-the-less but what they promised wasn't what it was.
I read the set list post and replied to the thread before read more posts… I am really sorry to hear that people felt uncomfortable at the show and unsafe. That really, really sucks. I'm sure if the band knew about it they wouldn't be thrilled. Here's to hoping that no one has to deal with those guys tonight and has a great time!
