Weren't the A24 ads just showing off the talent they have in the movie? I never saw anything that gave the impression they were A24-like ads.
Florence Pugh compared her experience making Thunderbolts* to an A24 film. Which, given Marvel Studios’ nonsensical track record of overstating influences, got a lot of ridicule. In response, Marvel dropped this teaser, which mentions all the A24 projects that people involved in the movie have also done while also riffing on the A24 logo’s aesthetic: Also named the teaser “absolute cinema,” after those Martin Scorsese memes, lol. So deeply unserious in a way that I find pretty funny, but also kinda annoying (insofar as it reminds me of Marvel stans’ insecurity and general sore winner demeanor).
Kind of silly since hasn't Pugh done a bunch of A24 films? Doubt Marvel told her to specifically say that.
don't know what that could possibly mean and it very obviously will get better reviews, it would be hard to get worse reviews lol
Yeah, this at least wasn't directed by the dude that did Cloverfield Paradox, so my expectations have always been higher.
PCS for those who care The first is red guardian in a supermarket with a box of wheaties and the thunderbolts (new avengers) on it saying how he’s on the box and the woman he’s showing runs away creeped out. The second post credits scene is them arguing about the new avengers not being the real avengers because of Sam’s avengers (Yelena is made that Sam didn’t pick them for the team, Bucky says he tried to talk to him about it, and Red Guardian settles with New Avengers because Sam copyrighted Avengers). Bob has lost his powers and washes dishes. A ship comes into orbit. A ship with a giant 4 on it
I will believe that when I see it. I still remember Tony Stark’s anxiety attacks that lasted for half of a movie.
So long as they don’t treat it like they did with Thor. One of my biggest gripes with Endgame is that they used Thor’s depression as a punchline for playground humor
‘to laugh like a drain’: meaning and origin Anyway was just a comment on how Cap 4 should have been the slam dunk while this was the "experimental" project (with a huge side of it looking grey AF based on the trailer). I'm happy Marvel have apparently managed to release a "good" film again. More please.
