The asterisk thing is gonna be such a letdown

 

Is it not just because in the trailer Bucky says they’re not called that? So they’re not officially called that but David Harbour keeps calling them that anyways?

 

fennessey was theorizing it's because the movie will effectively be known as Dark Avengers after it comes out and that's what the team ends up going by after that line in the trailer

which is dumb but plausible so whatever

 

I clearly do not know enough about the Dark Avengers because that doesn't make sense to me. But I really don't know the comic lore that well.

 

it's basically a team not dissimilar from suicide squad that is run by norman osborne/green goblin to basically be anti-heroes where they occasionally do things for good but for reasons motivated by self-gain

 

Almost no one thinks they're going to be called Dark Avengers because no one would call themselves that in real life, especially if they're trying to be heroes. They're more likely to just call themselves the Avengers and be the New Avengers.

 

Yeah I think I was just confusing them with Justice League Dark. Lol

 

Wasn’t one version of Dark Avengers a continuation of Thunderbolts? Like down to continuing that comic series’ numbering.

 

At first I thought you were just talking about the original Dark Avengers since they were partly made up of Thunderbolts, but it looks like after Osborn was removed from power, the Dark Avengers at the time were taken into custody and were used as replacement Thunderbolts in #175 after the then Thunderbolts got lost in time.

Man, what a sentence.

I think it is. All signs point to this being a legit good film.

 

Take this as a grain of salt but I’ve heard this is Feige basically taking up the challenge to “make a good film that is not seen as a superhero film”

I’m looking forward to this movie because I think it’s gonna be a solid, fun version of a Marvel movie that works with my sensibilities.

But, I think we can see pretty clearly that it’s definitely a Marvel movie, lol.

Don’t see the point in pretending it’s different or more than what it is.

 

He probably had a lot of involvement. He moved away from the TV shows to be more hands-on with recent MCU films. Probably at the request of Iger
