My only issue with Sink as Jean is, that’s pretty young to go, especially if they’re also doing Jubilee and/or Kitty. My favorite X-cartoon is Evolution, so shuffling age cohorts/generations doesn’t bother me the way it does some hyper-anal X-fans. But, especially since the last movie series had a younger team, feel like the O5 & Giant-Size characters would make the most sense already in their late 20s at minimum. (I’m also rooting for a school run by Scott, Jean, and/or Storm, with Xavier having founded it but already out of the picture, ‘cause the Charles/Erik dynamic has been exhausted already, lol.)
Are people expecting Sadie to be from the MCU and not some alternate universe? She could easily be an MJ from outside of the 616
this was super fucking solid actually. really liked how contained it was timeline wise and that it had a clear, surprisingly emotional message. Flo is goated at bringing out all the meat in material like this so it was a perfect fit, that scene with Alexei hit hard shame about Ghost getting sidelined though she's underrated as hell. shoulda brought back Goggins too
This was very enjoyable. Random observation but I thought the score was really great. So many Marvel movies have completely forgettable scores. On the other side of the spectrum are movies like Winter Soldier. I actually went out of my way to listen to this one after I finished watching. Definitely elevated the movie for me.
Well we finally found out who bought Avengers Tower, so at this rate we should find out in Secret Wars
That reminds me that the shadows left behind after Sentry erased people and the inspiration for it was kinda bananas dark and wild for a fun Marvel movie.
Really fun Marvel movie I always loved Sentry as a character and thought this interpretation of him was great.
I imagine that post-credits scene probably takes place during Avengers: Doomsday and we'll get some background into the "major crisis in space" Yelena is talking about and we'll probably get that Sam/Bucky argument scene they alluded to too.
Thinking about how this is great when the two big building blocks of this movie, Black Widow and Falcon & Winter Soldier were pretty mid to bad.
I will not agree, but I will reiterate how disappointed I am that Marvel doubled down on wasting Taskmaster. It was my biggest criticism of Black Widow, and it's my biggest criticism here.
Black Widow is an interesting case because the opening flashback scene was far better and more interesting than the entire rest of the movie
