Glad to hear. Last two times I’ve seen them has been first night of your. Both times you could tell. Ha
Yeah, Teppei was way off as far as his parts. It kinda reminded me of the early days. His parts were so complex that he struggled to perform them live on a consistent basis. By the time Artist rolled around, his live game was pretty spot-on.
It also reminded me of their first show post-hiatus during "Promises." My favorite part of the song is when Teppei comes in during the bridge. However, he began the part with his volume all the way down, and once he course-corrected, he played the wrong part. Still looked awesome. By the way, how awesome is Teppei's Jonny Greenwood hair/vibe these days?
Agreed. You might get your wish. Eddie did express a little remorse in an interview after TBEITBN was released; that he wasn't able to tear the bass open as much as he would have liked, and was looking forward to the next one to do so...consequently, he's also mentioned The Window is his favorite new song to play live. But, he's one creative direction out of 4, so we'll see.
I feel like it gets the best reaction next to black honey Live. Lyrically it is also the perfect mix for me. Theological with how hitting me in the head with Christ
I would love to hear some more of Riley's post-rock/post-metal influences on their next album. Something in the vein of Night Diving.
I was really hoping for night diving as the water song. They need to go heavier on the next album. Not necessarily Dustin screaming all the time but just generally more post-everything. They do it so well and the crowd eats it up.
God, more stuff in the vein of Night Diving would be absolutely incredible. That song takes me places. Pretty bummed I missed both LA shows, but the moneys...
Yeah, already kind of having regret from not going last night, but oh well. Will probably just watch that 4K set over the weekend instead.
Interview: Before Ybor City show, Riley Breckenridge talks family, flatulence, Thrice's new record and more "Nah, it's OK. We're gonna work with a producer, but we're also gonna go back to the do it ourselves deal that we did, um, for The Alchemy Index and Beggars. So part of it will be done on our own, part of it will be done with a producer, part of it will be done in kind of a home studio setting, part of it will be done in a legit recording studio or studios. But we're kind of finalizing that schedule, who we're working with, when we're gonna do it right now, actually."
This band has been a massive comfort over the past 24 hours. Also totally behind the Major/Minor hype, has some phenomenal songs, Words in the Water was unreal when I saw Dustin acoustic in a church, and Anthology is like my fav song ever/nailed on wedding song if it ever happens haha
