I can't rag on any set that has Daedalus and The Earth Isn't Humming in it. I dig it. Edit: I shouldn't comprehend things until I've had my morning coffee.
What the heck is Seether doing? Thrice is still in the midst of the album cycle that spawned the hit, "Black Honey." Everybody knows you don't cover a song that is brand new and still on the radio in some markets. Thrice must be so embarrassed by this. Also, Thrice recently covered "1979" on this very channel. They've always had proper cover etiquette (unlike Seether).
If you had told me earlier this week I would bare witness to a grown man complaining about "cover etiquette" in regards to Seether and Thrice, the two greatest nu metal bands of all time, on this very forum i wouldve called you an optimistic fool. I never thought id see the day someone would get bent out of shape of Seether covering a Thrice song
Did I miss something or is Seether covering Thrice not super flattering to Thrice? I'm not sure I understand.
It's whatever. I've been listening to them since high school when illusion came out. If this helps them get more people exposed that's good for them and hopefully means they won't go on hiatus again!
And having been in a band that was signed to a major label, "cover etiquette" is a very real thing. You don't cover a song when the writers of that song are still playing said song on its own album cycle. If it's some obscure artist that could use the publicity, that's one thing, but Thrice just appeared on that very same Sirius/XM show (only they covered a song from 1995).
Last point: There's a reason why Thrice isn't drawing attention to this cover via social media. You'll never see them share this.
Maybe they won't share this because they don't care Or maybe thrice and seether are actually the same band and seether is actually a side project
