Except that doesn't solve the issue of why you need to be an ass to people who love that album. That user may not have cared, but I love that album and I sure as hell don't want your pity. Your superiority complex when it comes to that album is embarrassing to read
Oh is that how it came off to you? Well I can't fix how you took that. I've said many times that I love the album too, and after that user explained why I said I agreed but still stand by my joke that its a hot take that its the best Thrice album.
That's just like my opinion man. Doesn't make it wrong or right. Simply how I feel about it. Are you filing in for @Mike J as the ultimate authority on Thrice. Which no one ever asked to have. We're all fans of the band dude. No need to turn it into a dick measuring contest just because my opinion is different than yours
You ended your initial post with "fight me." I thought it was fairly obvious his reply was meant to be playful ribbing. Whatever. But complaining about a "dick measuring" contest when you literally invited one is a bit strange.
Maybe I've been spending too much time in the Unpopular Opinion thread where this happens a lot, but its all in fun. I don't know what else I need to say, esp since everyone here says "this is their best" "this is their worst", I just decided to make it funny instead of posting "No I disagree". Sorry for mixing it up, I'll remember this thread is sensitive
All of these posts ranking albums not including Identity Crisis make me sad. Yeah, it's clearly not their best album, but let's at least knowledge its existence. :(
Identity Crisis and Illusion of Safety don't get the love they deserve at all. Just because the rest of their discography is so good shouldn't take away from the genius of those two albums as well. Classics in the genre, imo.
For time I counted Fire/Water as one and Air/Earth as one, but man I'd love to see them pull that off live
...Moving on. Ranking Thrice albums is fucking impossible. Vheissu To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere Beggars Major/Minor The Artist in the Ambulance The Alchemy Index The Illusion of Safety Identity Crisis First Impressions Shout out to If We Could Only See Us Now for the amazing songs: Eclipse, Motion isn't Meaning, and That Hideous Strength. I want to rank The Illusion of Safety higher and The Alchemy Index higher... I just don't know how to bump the other ones down.
For sure, they have some of the most amazing B-sides. I think that's my problem with ranking is that it's hard to bump any of them down the bottom. I guess its a good problem to have

I've come to greatly enjoy Thrice and theyre one of the most important bands to come from this scene and in my life. the Radiohead of this scene if you will. But Illusion cant be beat
