Since they do heavy so well, play it well live still but like to shy away on albums, I wish we got another Fire....
Fire & Water are also my favorites of The Alchemy Index. I especially love listening to both of them together.
Fire is probably my favorite individual EP of all time...if I had to pick one. It's just perfect. Side note: Have they ever played The flame deluge live? I'd love to see that as a midset interlude at a show of theirs.
That was the tour where Crime In Stereo opened right? If I'm remembering correctly, I saw them on that tour in Norfolk with my little brother. We got lost on the way to the venue because some roads were out because of flooding. That was a crazy night.
Wait what? Did they seriously play that? I saw that tour and they opened up with Firebreather and played Messenger, but that was it for my show. I'd think it'd be so hard to play because of all the effects in the song and his voice would be dead after that....
WJRR's Earthday Birthday 24....April 22nd 2017 | 101one WJRR Thrice playing in Orlando on April 22nd. Hoping a tour surrounds this.
Thrice Setlist at Warehouse Live, Houston According to setlist.fm, this is the only time it's showed up in a recorded setlist. This was back when they were touring in between the two Alchemy Index releases. If I remember their touring gear during that time, it's possible they could have played it live with all the equipment they had. Dustin was using a CB radio to get the digital effects needed to do the vocals for Digital Sea (which he just uses an Ipad for now).
Man if this is true, leading into this after The Messenger HAD to have killed his voice lol. Also I think it'd be jarring to follow up with Artist haha. I do remember the CB radio for Digital on that tour, it was so awesome live. I think Thrice was never better live than when touring TAI albums. Glad they captured it on DVD.
I know. I just find it hard to believe because I can't find a single Youtube video or another shred of evidence that they played it live beyond that mention. That entire set had to have killed Dustin's vox if it's true. They played FIVE songs from Fire. The set I saw them play in Richmond on that tour was probably my favorite set out of the six times I've seen them live. Trust, Daedalus, The Whaler...all some of my favorite songs they've ever put out. Plus there were some things in my personal live that happened at the show that made it all the better.
Yeah, I'm with you on not believing it. My show that tour was my favorite and first Thrice concert to date. They only did 2 from each Fire and Water, but played For Miles and did and awesome two punch of Red Sky and then busting right into Silhouette. I'll forever cherish that.
I believe you, but I just can't find a single shred of evidence that it was ever played live online in the form of a Youtube video or even a concert review. That's all.
Red Sky and Silhouette will never get old live. I'm pretty sure Silhouette was also the soundtrack to the last mosh pit I was in back when they played a Riot Fest aftershow here in 2015.
It was in Philly at the electric factory. I remember them playing it specifically bc my Friend had never heard Fire before, was a huge Brand New fan but wasn't that into Thrice. Loves real heavy music.. anyway I remember when they played it he went nuts bc of how insanely heavy that song was. I'll never forget it bc i never thought I would hear it live. What a great show, Brand new played a ton off of daisy and devil and god.. one of my favorite shows of all time.
yes I'm aware setlist FM doesn't have that song as the closer from that tour. but its wrong. should have videoed it on ym phone, doubt I had a smart phone to be honest
Oh sweet, so they closed with it instead of the Earth Will Shake? And yeah, lol I don't think Smart Phones were the must have thing back then, if they were even out.
Didn't see them play at that time, but the HOB DVD will forever be one of the best because of that performance. I've always been impressed by that.
Forgive me, I was typing while walking. I think there was one b side from the last record that the band didn't know what they were gonna do with. I wanna have it because the record is awesome. Record STORE day release or something maybe? Hopefully someone at a show can ask
Apparently the boys are going on tour from June to July supporting the Deftones and Rise Against in amphitheatres. Pretty cool to see them on a bigger tour like that. I probably won't be making it since my closet date is 4 hours away and since I'm not too familiar with rise against's and deftones discography
