It was a product of its era. Hardcore was huge then, especially in SoCal. We went crazy for it live. Now, it's like bleached hair.
Same. As much as I enjoy MO's cover of "Don't Speak", I feel like they could have done so much more with that. Could have been a lout heavier in certain areas. Still really fun though.
Looks like they did "Death From Above" and "Hurricane" for this too, and those are coming tomorrow: Thrice
I don't know much about Sixthman, but looking at the website, it seems they post an HD video (via Vimeo) of the sessions, but they seem to have also put out a few compilation CD's of songs from various sessions.
Reminds me of No Country for Old Men, though I'm not sure if I can pin that on a specific element. Related: finally watching that movie added a layer of enjoyment to "Call It in the Air" that I hadn't previously experienced.
Since Riley previously said that they'll probably shoot another video, what song would you guys like to see most as the last single/video from TBEItBN? I'm guessing it would be a live compilation video, a la "In Exile", and I'm cool with that because it'd be nice just to see them having fun together after 3 years apart. Here's a poll to cast your vote: Have your say: Since Riley Previously Stated That Thrice Would Probably Make Another Video, What Should the Final TBEItBN Single/Video Be?
I'd say Hurricane. I'd love to see a video of them jamming that out live, plus I think it's catchy enough for a single.
Also, they just announced another show at The Observatory in Santa Ana on Oct 9th. They stated it's the last hometown show of the year. The observatory website simply states Thrice & Special Guests. I'd assume it's still La Dispute and Gates opening since it's the night after their previous "last show".
