Fucking yikes. I remember buying the CD in high school after I’d spent months wearing out a burned copy of Identity Criss a friend had made for me.
I was a freshman in college, down in So Cali, and this coming out was a seminal "I'm growing up, I'm an adult, I'm where I want to be, and holy shit" kind of album for me. Took my tastes in a whole new direction. Still love this album -- may have to spin it today.
I turn 31 next week. I was never really concerned with feeling my age, but I do think it's hit me more than ever in the last year. Probably also a combination of having a child and working with college students, though.
Well now I know what a tricenarian is too... And I have 6 months left of being one until I become a (quick google search) quadratarian
Wow, as a Christian, I've always felt it's sad that the crack-up of Mars Hill had such a profound impact on Dustin's faith. It's tragic that at the time of his life when he pursued vocational ministry, his destination was a church that would soon collapse—circumstances that would challenge anyone's beliefs. I'll be curious to hear what he has to say about it all.
