i will not accept beggars hate.
everyone’s rankings can vary, but beggars should be middle to high imo

I remember being very disappointed by Beggars after loving Alchemy. It seemed a bit too safe compared to its predecessors. It's grown on me over time, but I still don't go back to it often.

I’ll be honest, I could not care less about some video recording of live songs (that aren’t new songs).

But I’m always down for discussing a band’s discography.

I can't imagine calling a record "safe" that opens with a Drive Like Jehu-esque post-hardcore song like "All the World Is Mad", transitions perfectly to the blues rock of "The Weight", and then makes another abrupt but still perfect transition to post-rock with "Circles".

And that's just like the first 10 minutes.

    Ricky's Law

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

You and your iPhone XR are "some video recording." A pro-shot video for a band with shockingly little pro-shot material is meaningful, especially when it's using the house audio.

I never said it was a good or nuanced opinion. At the time it was probably more like "hey, this sucks because no screaming."

I don't know, Elder. The last decade presents a strong case to the contrary.

In the last decade we got Thrice's return and 3 good to great albums, plus some excellent b-sides, with a 4th on the way.

    Ugh, I hate America. Supporter

I quit listening to them when Alchemy came out... then I went back last year and listened to everything... multiple times... so you all would not like my takes lol. That said, Beggars rules and that tour was great.

Currently watching the pro shot vid, and it’s really crazy how little this band has pro shot footage

I can’t believe people are sharing unpopular opinions about Beggars not being great.

Guess I might as well balance things out with my unpopular opinion that Vheissu is kinda uneven, lol.

"Stand and Feel Your Worth" is tops for me, but this one is close behind.

Also, how good does an album have to be for a track as great as "Flags of Dawn" to be relegated to a b-side?

  22. Shit I almost forgot about this song (not because it's not great but just because of brain being the way it is), thank you for the reminder.

    This is the truth.

Still, I've loved everything they've done since I was first introduced to *Identity Crisis* back in 2000 or 2001...

...even if *TBEITBN* hasn't held up well and there have been individual tracks on the most recent two that are terrible ("Hold Up a Light" & "The Dreamer").

    Fight the long defeat.

I'll hear no slander against the Dreamer. Not my favorite lyrics Dustin's written but musically, it's a gem.
