  1. Ricky's Law

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

His fondness for cocktails is well documented on his socials. There are other posts with egg nog and fruit-flavored drinks with his wife. I think he's a social drinker through and through.

    this.

from the comments on Reddit he did a vip set and was fine and sounded great. Sounds like the booze hit him quick and fast. He’s also never been known to have bad shows like that. He also apparently offered refunds and apologized multiple times

Pretty sure he talked about drinking a bunch of Jameson while working on Vheissu (it may even be in the special edition liner notes)

The song "Trust" is actually about a mixologist.

The J tree show was rough.

From the jump he was visibly very drunk and was having trouble playing his guitar and remembering lyrics.

    shit happens, not owed anything.

But as someone who was really excited to do a date night with my wife and see him in a really intimate setting. It was an absolute bummer how bad of a performance it was.

    Fight the long defeat.

Thought I heard Riley and Ed got on the Discord the other night. Anyone tune in to hear what they said?

If I was given access to the discord I might have kept the alliance membership

yeah they were on for about an hour. talked a little bit about their gear used for the record but were otherwise pretty tight lipped about it. riley said the record they were working on is horizons/west, ed said maybe there are screams, and they confirmed they would tour later this year. other than that it was kind of baseball talk and stuff we'd want to hear live/things we're listening to.

this hat will be the end of the Thrice that I loved, when artists start doing the cowboy cosplay I simply cannot follow

ps. this is mostly a joke but also kind of not

If there's any remote chance of them making a thoroughly heavy record again, it's now, having seen the crowds they drew for TAITA nostalgia. I think we'll still get the usual grab bag of styles, but there will probably be some heavier flourishes than usual after revisiting that era.

I would agree and had the same hope after seeing the response to the AITA tour. Here is to hoping it will have an impact on their writing process now. I just hope in general that they keep with the heavy influences as it is a core of their sound, it doesn't have to ever sound like the messenger or deadbolt, but Dead Wake and open your eyes are for me the two best songs they have released in awhile and both lean into heavier sounds. It would be a bummer for them to shift away from that sound indefinitely.

It would be cool to see them mix that old heavy sound or whatever heavy sound they are inspired by with the style they've been doung lately like a vheissu part 2 I would like a few more intricate lead guitar parts and diverse song structures

God, I'd trade Luis1988888's arm and leg for a Dead Wake and Open Your Eyes-sounding record.

as long as there's no more Dead Wake choruses I'm happy lol

I agree that chorus definitely makes the song feel like a b side but I like it when the song picks up towards the end

Did they ever talk about why Vheissu is tuned slightly flat from the standard 440 hertz tuning? I always thought that was pretty cool and maybe made vheissu sound even more unique also their use of rhodes piano and volume pedal swells are two of my favorite things on that album
