So, after initially acknowledging the mistake on the Beggars vinyl, the merch company won't respond to my requests for a return label so that I can get a refund.
It's a bloody shame that we don't have the full acoustic set from when Riley threw his back out in '03:
I got into a holiday argument with my cousin over his following statement: "Horizons is better than Palms, but Palms has two songs (Pines, Breathe) that belong on their greatest hits album. Horizons doesn't have any." What song(s) from Horizons/East do you think have a rightful place on Thrice's Greatest Hits? It's tricky because, while Still Life would go on my greatest hits comp, I know there's no chance the band and their inner circle would ever actually pick that song.
I agree, Palms is their weakest album and Horizons East has more solid songs but I personally think Beyond the pines is superior to any of the rest of the songs on either album and is probably the only song off of them that deserves a spot among their best especially if there is only room for like 10- 12 songs.
i was so happy when they played still life back when they toured in 22. that song rocks and feels unique in their discography.
Yeah, I'd put Dandelion Wine on there. Color of the Sky is also terrific, but it's a tough call whether it's truly among their best.
Supposedly by the end of next year, i'm guessing October 2025 since they love releasing stuff in october.
Sorry not just october but september or october. I find it interesting i've noticed patterns in some of my favorite bands that when they started experimenting with a more mature sound their albums started coming out around the fall months. Vheissu being released in october and Blink 182 releasing Untitled in the fall after their three previous pop punk albums being summer albums.
unfortunately, there's a difference between our favorite songs and greatest hits. GH albums are radio single heavy, so what a label would want for a tracklist will differ heavily from our personal standouts.
Okay, it’s a toss up with that one. I didn’t bother to check the track list. I guess I’d give The Window the nod between those two.
