Yeah a whole tour seems unlikely especially if they are still focusing on writing, recording and then touring the new album next year. I would love a live in studio recording of Vheissu or even some late in the year hometown shows like they did for The illusion of safety i'm glad I got to see Vheissu live before covid hit hard in 2020
Nice I think it was my last show before covid too, if I recall correctly San Francisco was the first date of the tour.
That was my one and only show I went to in 2020. Would love to see some of those songs again, particularly Stand and Feel Your Worth. I started to get really into that song over the last few years and I don’t feel like I appreciated it as much when I saw them play it in 2020
Dustin has mentioned not loving how his vocals sound on Vheissu. If they could marry that record's writing to their current studio sound, oh my... Would absolutely be down for a re-record like Artist got.
@exanctile That would be so sick, it wasn't until Dustin mentioned that he didn't like his vocals until The alchemy index that I noticed a difference between the improvement from Vheissu to that album. Like his clean vocals definitely improved from the artist to the alchemy index. But from what I remember I think he was more focused on actually hitting the right notes on Vheissu than giving the performance he wanted to. I wonder how Vheissu would sound like with a more live feel. I would love all the extra stuff they've added to songs like The earth will shake, and Of dust and nations.
In February, when the last nostalgia tour ended, he said they were about to "make some new music." Based on the podcast, it sounds like life interrupted their plans, but I have to imagine they have the written material by now. Sigh.
I would be down for a 2023 TAITA style rerecorded Vheissu. It feels like the last record that had Dustin's "young" voice. Guess I can always go back to the House of Blues live album in the meantime
I'm going to anticipate it doesn't come out until September or october it seems the majority of their post The Artist In The Ambulance albums released or in Beggars case were meant to be released in September
Front side of the green refuses to embed for some reason, but new favorite piece of band merch finally arrived
Lmao I wouldn't be mad if they made another the alchemy index, a rich soundscape album where they didn't have to worry about being a rock band. Also I wonder what Silver Wings would sound like live, and not the acoustic version they did.
Remember the old joke article about them planning a 118 EP album about the periodic table? They should make that a reality
