Maybe this is the general consensus, but I've always thought Salt and Shadow would have fit really well on Water.
"Words in the Water" would be an obvious candidate too. Dustin has frequently included tons of water imagery across the discography. "Red Sea" also comes to mind.
I thought it was interesting how Dustin's wife still gives him a hard time about them switching their second single from "Artist" to "Stare at the Sun." Apparently, she urged him not to take KROQ's suggestion at the time.

Super interesting tidbit about the chorus lyrics for All That’s Left basically changing because of 9/11 lol also, always an interesting thought if artist had been pushed as the 2nd single instead of Stare. Back when it came out I always preferred Stare vs Artist I don’t know why lol. I always felt Artist felt slow but didn’t really appreciate it until I saw it live
seeing the Stare video on Fuse is what got me into Thrice, although I'm sure seeing an Artist video instead would have had the same result
My current ranking: Vheissu Beggars/Artist in the Ambulance Alchemy Vol.1 & 2 Illusion of Safety [everything else]
Scratch that - add To Be Everywhere in after Illusion of Safety. Just listened to it again and had forgotten how solid it is overall.
Really want to go to the TAITA tour, but tickets are still sitting at $113 a piece for Chicago. Really goddamn frustrating.
Revisiting TBEITBN and it’s still a jam. “Hurricane” is a hell of an opener and I maintain that “The Window” and “The Long Defeat” are 2 of their best songs.
