I slept on all the others thinking, "man I don't really need another vinyl right now". Pretty sure though the glorious blue on their site was already sold out when I checked. Because this album, I do LOVE... but I got into it late probably after Alchemy Index came out. Once I saw the clear up I knew it was meant to be.
Been in meetings all day and missed all the vinyl orders. My day is ruined. Guess there aren't any variants still on sale anywhere?
This is pretty good. Doubt I’ll take it over the original, not sure if I like this production as much
Oh yeah I mean for the next few weeks I’ll be listening to this one no doubt, just long term the original might be my fav thrice record so
Gotcha. The OG was the album that got me into them. I am sure I saw the All That’s Left video an AP and it went from there. I quickly picked up Illusion and loved it even more. So Artist has basically never been my fav. Beggars is my favorite these days. But the OG Artist has grown higher for me over recent years. So it’s rad to hear these songs with a production and mix I prefer. I’ll always love both now. What a time to be a Thrice fan.
anyone know... for the shows that say "VIP not available", are those already sold out, or they're just not doing VIP in those cities?
Per an IG post by Riley, Scott Evans was involved. I would guess that Teppei was as well, since the Jordan Butcher (strange.practice) post above suggests it was recorded for a label New Grass, which is the same name Teppei uses for his studio (obviously, it was borrowed from Talk Talk originally).
Thrice and Chevelle are similar in my head in that they seem to basically have three great songs they do over and over again. That said, I enjoyed my first listen of this!
Absolutely adore this refresh, I think Stare at the Sun is my favorite so far. Was able to get the 180g black and Blue Galaxy vinyls.
What do you guys think of the slower ending to Abolition? Teppei's lead line has less of a bounce to it, if that makes sense.
yeah listening back through this version just affirms this is my favorite thrice album. that it sounds so good 20 years later replayed by the same band should tell you something about the core songwriting on the record. they don’t sound like old punks trying to relive the glory days. this could’ve been their new album and it’d be a 10 lol
