revisiting this also had me re-visit horizons/East and I stand by my original thoughts that that album is a top 4 thrice record
I’m not sure I’m super thrilled with the “live” recording. Songs like Cold Cash suffer more because of it in my opinion. That said, songs like Melting Point sound incredible here. I also love how the guest vocalists have been utilized. They’re noticeable, they clearly accentuate the songs, but they’re not overbearing either. Bravo.
I will say, this really does give it a new feel, and it's one of my favorite albums of the last 20 years, definitely see myself playing the shit out of this the next few months ...
samesies only certain bands can pulls this off and Thrice is one of them. like I don't really ever want TBS to re-record TAYF because I think they'd butcher it. but bands like Thrice and Touché Amoré - bands that've progressed in their sound and musicianship - usually slay it when they re-record older material.
I don't listen to the songs on this album very much anymore. They sound a bit outdated to me, so this is a welcome refresh. It rocks
There is a comment in the news post about this that has me absolutely DEAD. I don’t really feel like trying to dunk on anyone, but my goodness. My jaw was nearly on the floor lol
I deleted three responses when I saw it and decided to leave it be. lol, if it's same one I'm thinking

I revisited the original and am now on my second listen of this version. I've already listened to the album more today than I have in years. I definitely slept on it in favor of their material from Vheissu onwards and I'm regretting it now.
