no, the outro with lyrics. the version from both of their live albums. it's been so long that i can't remember them playing it with the sudden stop at the end.
I can’t answer that. But I feel like that’s the only way the play it from what I’ve seen. But maybe a video will pop up. I am sure it was the song that had the most phones out for it.
Genuinely don't understand why people are so weird about Deadbolt. It's a good song, but it's not even the best one on the album.
I really like it and it is in my top 5 on the album. But I’m not obsessed with it and it alone haha I’ve seen it live twice and am content if I don’t see it live again.
Midtown took too long tearing down. Anti-Flag got delayed because of that. Norma Jean’s drums had no sound for like 30 minutes. So a bunch of little things added up. Thrice went on 20 minutes after NFG ended as scheduled.
They did the extended play out and the piano, oddly enough. Used the piano to immediately launch into IYTC. THS live was jaw dropping. There’s a very different career Thrice would’ve had going that direction. Popped off.
I keep coming back to this new single and dreaming of a world where they did a full album with this sound.
There’s an alternate timeline where they take the A7X route after Artist. They really could have done anything they wanted given their talent.
Was doing some YouTube searching and found these videos of the guys live 2003 with them playing Silhouette with a different name before TAITA was released
I've never connected with anything besides The Artist In The Ambulance so I've been working on a discog run this week to see how my tastes may have evolved. I just got to "Broken Lungs" and I can tell you I wasn't prepared to run into a 9/11 truther song during this. So far really digging Beggars and the Alchemy Index Fire/Water though. Need to spend more time with Vheissu and Major/Minor
I just choose to ignore the 9/11 aspect and just vibe with it as a don’t trust the government blindly and pursue truth.
I was trying to be charitable and considering it being regarding how the government has failed to properly support the health care of the first responders (anyone on the pile dealt with horrible diseases and illnesses to this day). But then genius.com showed me this video about him talking about the government hiding the truth and there being explosives in the building and I'm just like ehhhh ok next song
That video is definitely sus, but I think Dustin has disavowed those thoughts since. Personally I always interpreted it as a critique of the government using 9/11 to get us into the Iraq war, begin mass surveillance, etc. and that’s how I continue to interpret it.
BrooklynVegan has a nice pressing too: Thrice give 'The Illusion of Safety' expanded 20th anniversary reissue (exclusive splatter vinyl!) (I believe they also have Beggars and M/m, maybe more, available on their store)
That smart punk one is nice. As is the newbury one. I’ll stick with my web store variant. Because I already own one of these. I don’t need two, let alone three lol
