I want to know in vague terms when H/W is coming out. Like Spring, Fall, 2023? H/E has been a really enjoyable listen and I’m curious if it’ll
Be in the same vein or if it’s a counterpart album. Alchemy Index had months between them and talking about those vinyls just made me curious if there had been any rumblings at shows on in their online accounts or interviews.

 

judging by the recent release of east, and the backup of vinyl releases, i bet jan-mar 2023.

 

I hope bands don’t base everything off vinyl manufacturing. People can preorder vinyl but you can have a digital and vinyl drop date.

 

How many times does it have to be said that doing that affects sales numbers and bands don’t want to do that lol

 

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I hope they re-press Major/Minor sooner or later. In the meantime I guess I'll buy a third Alchemy Index.

Spinning the alchemy index rn and reading along to the liner notes, i forgot how many cool nuggets are in there. Like Teppei recording beer bottles clanking together on Backdraft.

I still think burying the microphone under the “earth” on Child of Dust was pretty creative. The Alchemy Index is still my favourite concert record(eps).

 

The real question is how many threads is he gonna come into on this site demanding to know when artists are gonna release new music and then decide that their reasons for not doing so in the timeframe he wants them to are not to his own personal liking

 

Band reminds me a bit of an older (younger) Thrice right down to the vocalist and the album includes a cover of To Awake and Avenge the Dead.
Album comes out next week.

 

Thrice's 'The Illusion of Safety' turns 20 – a pillar of 21st century post-hardcore

 

It’s a good read. Wild this is 20. Would love a remaster/remix of the album just to see how it sounds cleaned up. The re-record thing bands are doing now is cool, but I feel like Dustin’s vocal style has changed so much since that it would piss too many people off. Plus they’d have to play “Deadbolt” again.

 

I’d rather them finish Horizons/West, but I do remember mention of maybe someday doing alt versions of existing songs. Or maybe I’m just trying to Will it into existence.

I assumed more mellow takes on stuff from their discography but a song like Milly Michaelson which they played different live full band could be cool too.

 

I'd love them to do updated takes on old songs on tour. Like the version of Trust from HoB live.

Not sure if it's been shared in this thread already but a few weeks ago Dustin posted an insta story with a link to an interview he did (can't remember the website) and he said they were currently finishing up Horizons West. So I would think we see it in spring or summer.

 

Someone posted it on one of the Thrice threads. Excited to hear “the other half” of Horizons.

Hearing early songs with Dustin's grownup voice is amazing. One of my favorite things about the Anthology set.
