Is there a reason these guys haven’t done a live stream or something? Seems like they totally gave up after having to cancel touring. No mention of new music? Literally anything would feel like good news from them. Instead a 2 live track 7”.

 

from listening to the newest Carry The Fire podcast with Matt Pryor, they have been doing virtual writing for the next record, and then together in person writing with masks in their shared space, but things have been slow going for the writing during this time. Hope we get more news soon though

 

Considering all 4 members write music for the band I was hoping they’d have something to bring to the studio next year.

But life, other work and passions, and lack of motivation have probably effected a lot of bands writing.

 

I revisited Palms the other day, I think I prefer TBEITBN pretty safely at this point

 

TBE is great. Palms has some great songs, just not as good.

Um are you sure we're listening to the same album? lol I remember a bunch of people agreeing after a couple months Palms came out it doesn’t sound as full as TBE. Would love to hear a production guru’s opinion on it though

 

I don't think Palms is perfect (the production on the chorus of Dark is especially weird) but TBE still feels a lot more unpolished to me

 

I like Palms but I also think it sounds kind of flat at times. My biggest gripe with it is that the first four tracks were singles and I played them to death before it was released, that’s my own fault though. My Soul and Just Breathe are fantastic songs.

I enjoy a handful of songs on it for sure! But when it comes to Palms, Hold Up A Light is the only song I don't care for

 

Palms and TBE strike me as polar opposite records. Seems quite easy to prefer one to the other.
