All That's Left is also the reason I got into Thrice and probably, ultimately, the reason I started reading AP to begin with. Sooooo Anyone here because they heard Black Honey on the radio?
Wow, this thread sometimes lol Anyways "The Grey" for me is better than the singles they released for their last 2 albums. I just want to see what the rest of this album has in store. Hope we get some more songs with nice rhythm like In Exile.
Starting to doubt mike js loyalty to the band P.s I’m glad deathco isn’t here to get pissed at me for posting too many times in a row
I can understand why you'd feel that way. I just wanted 'that sound' on the record since the record was THRICE's entire catalog of sounds remixed, in essence. Palmquist's plan to revisit all their past sounds is what made it their "The Force Awakens" record.
Yeah that's what I mean. "Hurricane" is an absolutely top tier Thrice song so no this one doesn't beat it for me.
Sea Change is great but I can understand why they left it off the album. Also why are you still comparing Thrice albums to Star Wars movies? Does this mean that Identity Crisis was their "A New Hope", and Beggars was their "Attack of The Clones"? Cause those are some warm takes.
When I first called TBEITBN Thrice's "Force Awakens" record back in 2016, it was a take that many applauded since both the record and the movie had the same approach (remix the the greatest moments in the franchise or catalog while sprinkling in some new magic like 'The Window' or Rey). Plus, the movie was still on our collective minds as of June 2016. People loved their theories, man. After all, it's the biggest domestic movie of all time. I haven't written a Star Wars take since, however, the lyrics to "The Grey" could apply to Luke's arc in TLJ. This new trilogy is ultimately about balance requiring both light and dark, hence why they named its main character (g)Rey.
i'd be content if they never played deadbolt again, but i know this is one case where my dreams won't come true. #moretoawakeandavengethedeadplz
Might as well throw Trust and Kill Me Quickly in there too. I know they played Kill Me Quickly on their farewell tour, but I'm pretty sure Trust hasn't been in the setlist since their touring for The Alchemy Index.
