So glad I listened 10 times back to back when I did lol. yeeepp! I honestly like every song on that album but those stand out a lot for sure.
I love Blur (especially for its lyrical connection to Words in the Water), but I definitely agree about Listen Through Me. That's always been my least favorite. My bottom three from M/m is Listen, Call It in the Air, and Yellow Belly <-- which infuriates me that Yellow is the one M/m that they seem to play live anymore.
Oof. So sorry. That saddens my soul. Knowing I won't see any M/m songs (or only "Yellow") makes me never want to see Thrice again, unless they're touring a new album that I REALLY love. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, though, sadly. I'm pretty lukewarm on TBEITBN and I'm on the fence about this new track. I hate being the "I like their older music" sort of guy, because I usually try to champion an artist's newest work, but Thrice/Kensrue have been making it hard for me, especially when they are purposefully distancing themselves from two of my all time favorites (M/m and Kensrue's The Water & the Blood).
a radio rip went up but it's been taken off youtube, not sure if it can be found...elsewhere. loved it.
That's the worst part of the album, it's feels like a not as good extension of their best work. It lacks an edge and I'm actively turned off by quite a few of the lyrics. Thankfully, they came back strong with the last album.
the hiatus clearly did them well i think. TBEITBN is as good a comeback record as you'll find in their genre. and laid the foundation for them to continue growing and expanding in this next phase of the band
