First saw Thrice on their Major/Minor run with Moving Mountains, O'Brother, and La Dispute. That was a terrific show.
Moving Mountains has probably been the most fitting opener for Thrice in terms of style. Damn I miss Gregory Dunn.
I saw them with The Receiving End of Sirens, and Moving Mountains for the first time. I think that's what the tour was or maybe I'm mixing up a couple into one.
Got into them during TAITA. Saw them during that era w/ Alk3 and HWM. Thrice blew them all off stage.
same here, and that was my first proper show in the scene. I remember being in awe at the girl's voice from Veda. I think she eventually went on to become the vocalist of Flyleaf at some point lol
Remember when there was a Rise Against/Alkaline Trio/Thrice/Gaslight Anthem tour? Would give my right eye to see that every 5-ish years.
This was mine. I'll never forget how Underoath said a small prayer at the end of their set which just made me and my brother very, very confused haha. It was a good introduction to The Bled though.
The National in Richmond, Virginia. November 2009 Coheadline tour with Brand New, Crime in Stereo opening. What a show. My first Thrice show and my first Brand New show. I went in as a vague Thrice fan, and left with as much love and admirations for them as I had for Brand New at the time.
They did! I wish Thrice played 2nd to last though. I know they are loved, but Alk3 killed the energy for me being in between Thrice and Rise, who are both so energetic.
I was late to the Thrice train, first time I saw them was at Wrecking Ball in ATL in 2015, then again with La Dispute and Gates the next year. A Coheed/Thrice tour would be amazing, but I doubt Coheed does another co-headliner right after the one with TBS. So how about Thrice/Manchester with PBTT opening? Maybe with a smaller band opening, like Night Verses?
I was hours away from seeing a Thrice/Manchester show but Dustin's dad passed away and they cancelled the tour.
I mean, from what I remember, I don't think he's full on conspiracy theorist but he says something along the lines of "too much stuff doesn't add up and never fully trust the government" lol, which I think we all can agree with that last part. I'll def snap a shot and upload it when I get home, going to my little dudes soccer practice straight from work so it'll be a few hours.
I’m not sure if he actually believes it... I think he might have at one point but recently he said during an AMA on twitter that it was his favorite conspiracy theory... which, to me, kind of implies that he thinks it’s just that... a conspiracy theory.
I got to see Dustin play a solo gig at my college back in like 2006, but didn't get to see the full band until 2009 with The Dear Hunter in Anaheim. That was also my first exposure to The Dear Hunter.
This is the dream but AOF will probably never do a full scale tour again and especially not in the US
