Dustin originally said summer on record. I called my THRICE source and he emphatically stated, "June. The new deal stated summer." So, clearly, they were pushed back. Admittedly, I began to doubt that timeframe since this recording process has taken much longer than TBEITBN. The latter took a month to do everything. This new record started recording the first week of February and they're just now finishing up. I'm guessing they had a tight budget for the last record (hence the 30 day tracking), and to afford themselves more time on this record, Teppei produced while a friend hooked them up with a studio for the instruments/vocals. The big money went toward the drums as those pictures indicate.
Count me in for a potential Thrice/mwY tour. Forever kicking myself for missing (and/or not listening to) the two of them with Brand New back in 2007.
My first time seeing Thrice was on that tour and they played such a perfect set (for my date, they changed it up night to night).
I do miss when they varied their sets from night to night. As a whole, I hate going into a show knowing exactly what I'm going to hear. I understand it from some bands who do more production with their live shows, but it ends up being underwhelming to me when I know everything ahead of time.
I just have a feeling this album is going to be some next level shit. A combination of all their finest elements
I'm actually very curious what social issues this record with touch on. I was listening to 'Death From Above' right after the bombings in Syria and thinking about how relevant a bunch of their songs continue to be sadly.
Dustin's outspokenness has reinvigorated THRICE 2.0. I love the edge and anger he has now (even if I don't always agree with him).
To be clear, as long as he's happily singing in THRICE, he can sing about lettuce for all I care. I really don't dwell on lyrics all that much. I just think the band will get even bigger if his lyrics follow the TBEITBN blueprint. And as I've theorized before, it's not an accident that they had their most successful record in years via more accessible lyrics.
That's a joke I don't possibly see how you could disagree with any of his social takes unless you're a bad person lol but hey
Do you honestly think those things aren’t connected for Dustin? That his political and social views aren’t based in a foundation of his religious convictions?
Duh I don't see what point you're trying to make? Me and Dustin can draw the same political and social conclusions using different world views. Doesn't mean I agree with his religious conclusions.
