This thread got worse when people started being mean to Mike and Teebs.

 

I think Daedalus almost has a beggars/Mm bluesy vibe so it just feels further down the road for them.

 

it makes sense that they would start thinking about it since it was written as a pairing with melting point of wax, but just because they wrote it pre-vheissu doesn't mean it would have sounded anything like it does in its form now. radiohead has done that countless times in the past.

 

That’s fair enough, I just found it interesting. Lots of cool insight in those notes.

I've been dying to read these Beggars notes for years now

 

I listened to Beggars again the other day and I was begging for it to stop.

Because my ears couldn't handle the awesomeness, of course.

not really, there's been some cool stuff in the Q and A about a couple of other upcoming releases though. Now Now and Underoath.

 

I'm still mad that Beggars wasn't released with the original artwork, which was more fitting to the themes in the album. If I recall I don't think they could secure the rights to the photo.

 

Agreed 100%.

And as I recall, the expedited release due to the leak meant that they couldn’t get the rights in time and went with a photo they already had the rights for.

Stupid leak.

 

I still have one more can of Thrice's The Long Defeat beer from Barrier/Randolph. I may crack it tonight while listening to TBEITBN on vinyl.

 

I threw $5 at @Jason Tate anyway. Needed some Dark Mode back in my life.

I love how active the band has been updating their social media from the studio. Genuinely fun to watch bits of their process.
