Did "The Window" and "The Long Defeat" skip by accident?

 

"Salt and Shadow" is one of the best songs they've ever written. Still gives me chills every time I listen to it.

 

Nah, I skipped them because they're terrible songs...jk love "The Long Defeat" I think "The Window" is good, but nothing amazing, but both those songs wouldn't be in the top tier of Thrice songs.

 

Hurricane, The Window, The Long Defeat, Black Honey, and Death From Above have all cemented themselves as some top tier Thrice songs, especially The Long Defeat

 

The Window is one of my favorite Thrice songs. It’s like a heavy There, There by Radiohead.

Hurricane might be my fave Thrice song at this point. That riff is so punishing.

 

The bridge of Listen Through Me absolutely crushes. Not often am I in a big M/M mood but today it's really scratchin' the itch

 

Say what you will about M/M but you can hear everybody pretty well on it. Really appreciate the thicccccck bass Eddie lays down.

Hot take: I appreciate "The Window" but I don't love it, which is basically how I feel about Radiohead so that comparison is apt.

 

I never once heard Radiohead when listening to The Window

Dude, I've been saying that for forever. They're obviously brilliant, it just hasn't clicked yet. I trust it will soon.

 

I figured out why I don't like Hurricane to the degree of others. It's because I listened to that 10 second clip of the main riff at least 3,000 times. That was the very first snippet they released en route to TBEITBN.

 

"Circles" and "Wood and Wire" are all-timers.
