honestly for me, no, the lyrics arent that make or break. i have several other problems with m/m other than the lyrics. they're just one piece of the puzzle
Top Tier: Fire and Water, Beggars, TBEITBN, Upper Tier: Artist, Vheissu, Air and Earth, Middle Tier: M/M, IOS Never Listened: IC
Was just seeing if there was some correlation between that and your ranking. A lot of times you can tell when someone gets into a band based on their ranking.
I feel like my taste totally grew with them. By the time Vheissu came out, I needed something new or something that broke the mold a bit. Then TAI, into Beggars etc.
I haven't visited these in a while, but the versions of "All The World Is Mad" and "Beggars" on Daytrotter are great: Thrice Daytrotter Session Jan 4, 2010
Between those, the MySpace Tranmission Sessions and the Red Bull Studio Sessions, they have a great live studio collection.
The record was recorded at Red Bull Studios for the most part. Dustin's voice went to hell so they had to do some stuff at Dave's house.
I listen to vinyl right when I get it. Then rarely put it back on. Becomes a collectors item. Also only way i support most bands since I don’t buy band merch and as I get older I don’t love going to shows as much. Really feel like an old man for some of these newer “scene” bands.
So did i, and i think it’s a huge reason i think Beggars is their best. It was the first one i experienced new along with everyone else That, and because it’s their best
collectors item for me. vinyl is far from high fidelity and impossible to make high fidelity just because of the way the playback works.
