I really like it, but I can't put it on that same level with Vheissu, Alchemy, and Beggars. I would put it about on par with Artist, and those 2 slightly above Illusion, but Illusion isn't below those enough to relegate it to the lower tier.
Correct! Anthology is great, but the number of repeat tracks on there from Live at the House of Blues is a little disappointing. I would love to hear songs they played that tour like All The World is Mad, Bloodclots and Stand and Feel Your Worth. Those sound so great live too.
I would only say that even though you may not agree with the “truth” expressed throughout the album, it doesn’t mean you can’t recognize the skill in their writing.
The overlap is a bummer. But they are both still great. I do wish we would have gotten a few more unique tracks on Anthology.
It's not just what they say, but how they say it. They're so on the nose that I can't really appreciate them on that level.
TBEITBN is a wonderful record that has yet to fade for me. I wouldn't say I skip the first track; I just don't seek it out. If I have to put my clothes in the dryer, I'll do it during "Hurricane."
The songs they played on some dates of the Farewell tour that weren't on the album are: Blood Clots and Black Holes Identity Crisis Helter Skelter Stand and Feel Your Worth All The World is Mad At The Last Identity Crisis Replacing Broken Lungs, Red Sky and some other repeat ones would have been so great.
I don't have any issue with them. They're a call to action to take a stand and do something in your life, and touches on similar themes as the song "Beggars".
So, the music can be great, the melodies as well, but as long as the lyrics stink, that brings down the entire song for most of you?
Hurricane is the best song on TBEITBN, and will maybe end up being my favorite Thrice song ever. Fight me.
Of course. I mean, just look at Glassjaw’s EYEWTKAS. Musically great but the offensive lyrics make it unlistenable for me.
TAITA has some classic Thrice songs. Many that are live staples. As was stated above(Silhouette, At the Last,Etc.). Still enjoy that album. I’ve actually only heard Illusion once. Maybe I should re visit
