While I was conscious of how trivial it sounded (and stated exactly that in my OP), I shared my excitement for the fact that Dustin would be angry while writing lyrics for this record. But, yeah, in times like these, real life tragedy is certainly more important than Dustin's lyrical choices.

 

What song grew on you the most?

 

I'm gonna say "At The Last." I didn't know what to think of it at first. And one day, it clicked, becoming something uniquely upbeat yet dramatic at the same time.

Backdraft is probably the song that has grown on me the most. Wasn't too into it for a while until a year or two ago.

 

I love the second verse:

Such a genuine delivery.

 

Should I have received my Alchemy Index Vinyl by now?

 

I haven’t gotten mine yet. I’d guess it’ll be some time in the next few months.

 

The Window is probably the track that grew on me the most. Off the new album Blood in the Sand, Black Honey, Long Defeat and Stay with Me stuck instantly but The Window was kinda eh at first but the more I listened to it combined with seeing it live, made it a favorite.

Hurricane also wasn't an instant love but grew on me pretty fast, a lot faster than Window.

 

I always dug Hurricane, but once the first chorus came in I was completely sold. Wake Up, depending on my mood is the only track I sometimes gloss over.

 

The Window is sick, i've always thought TBEISTB is a mix of Fire, Air, and Beggars, I think The Window nails that.

 

In my heart I always go into each new Thrice album hoping for a ripping hard opening track (even though that's not who they are anymore) so I was a little disappointed at first.

After hearing a fantastic acoustic version though, it made me go back to it more and I ended up loving it.

 

The long defeat. Seeing it live made it an album stand out when it wasn't before

It has been nice and non dramatic.

And also wild to see Thrice fans who don't really dig Illusion and Artist too much. I always figured those were some of their most loved albums. Staples for me for sure.

 

Artist has nostalgia for me, but I rarely go to anything pre Vhessui anymore.

I didn't honestly care for "The Weight" until I saw it live.

Everyone was raving about "The Window" for the longest time and it took me a little longer to get on board, but it's one of the best songs on the latest album

 

Artist is great but i barely listen to early thrice anymore since I discovered boysetsfire. Imo the same sound and feeling but better

 

The Window isn’t that great. Don’t @ me.
