I really wish every single one of you guys could've experienced those early IC & Illusion shows. The moment those Illusion songs were introduced, you knew something big was gonna happen. And sure enough, they were scooped up immediately after a major bidding war. Unfortunately, the industry didn't have the time, patience or resources to turn THRICE-era bands into the next grunge-like movement. They were looking for donuts; THRICE offered them soufflé instead.
I wonder what a Thrice-binge would be like to the virgin ear. I haven't found a new band that I truly love in such a long time. THRICE gives me everything I need along with Julien.
The artist is better than the illusion of safety simply bc the artist songs are actually in time. Illusion is really loose rhythmically and it really bothers me at times.
Aenima is not the best by miles. It's right up there with Lateralus. By the way, I'm totally cool with Tool talk in other threads.
All That's Left is a great song. No one got fired over it. Most everyone here got into Thrice on a different album and still like Artist.
Aenima has the strongest individual songs, but as a whole Lateralus is the most cohesive but to keep things Thrice related, what's an underrated song that everyone likes? Mind would be Hoods on Peregrine. I love that bass riff right in the middle of the song.
I agree that it has the strongest individual songs, and that Lateralus does have a very cohesive feel and is a lot closer than I gave it credit for haha. Answered or Lost Continent
