Not awful take, I love the song and album but if we were ranking songs it would be in the lower middle, close to the bottom. I see no one is arguing those other songs don't do the same type of explosive ending better, so my point still stands
Beggars is definitely in my top 10 at least. Lyrically and musically one of their best songs, and an amazing closing track.
Meh. Also, if you keep saying reported, no one is going to believe you when you actually do report someone.
Really? If that is the first song people showed me from these guys I wouldn't think much of them. Statements like this is why this song is the most Overrated (which is not the same as me saying its a bad song) Their most defining would be like Dust of Nations, The Earth will Shake or even the newer Black Honey I think is a good showcase of what Thrice is all about.
If someone says something offensive enough for me to actually report, I'm not going to announce it and make a joke of it haha. If someone thinks I'm actually reporting them for their opinion, I'm sorry haha
Your point is irrelevant though. It doesn’t show how Beggars is overrated or not. Just that you think those songs are better. And honestly , most of those don’t have the same dynamics as Beggars building to the big ending.
I know its a joke. Its one of the few that never gets old, for me at least. Now stop explaining your jokes and get back to telling me how right I am please.
well, I would say that Beggars doesn't build to anything. It's the same pace and then explodes, which isn't the same as building. Its a great song but in such a stacked discography, overrated still the same.
I could see the argument being made for "The Earth Will Shake" being their defining song. However, the report remains. I'm very upset about this
Exactly. Especially the second half of the song even though I love the music and Dustin's passion, I am not a big fan of the lyrics.
Building doesn't have to mean a quickening pace. Dustin's vocals definitely build as the song goes along and then that guitar just explodes at the end. My only qualm with the ending is that I wish it went on longer and they just really went for it.
In terms of how your average Thrice fan obsesses over it vs. the quality of the actual song, I would say yes. Off the top of my head - Kill Me Quickly, Betrayal is a Symptom, The Red Death, To Awake and Avenge the Dead, and So Strange I Remember you are all better songs that deserve more airplay than Dedbolt from that album. Also, instead of reporting you, I'm just going to be passive-aggressive and post a GIF because of your further take on Beggars: Angry GIFs - Find & Share on GIPHY
That’s not to say I dislike the song, not even close, just that I’d take most of the album over Beggars. Also: Phoenix Ignition Identity Crisis
