Can I just say how bummed I am that Deadbolt is going to win the next album easily? It's almost worth skipping the record because of this. Don't get me wrong, it's a classic Thrice track but "In Years To Come" is my all-time favorite Thrice song
Top 10(In chronological order) In Years To Come Trust Under A Killing Moon Paper Tigers For Miles Red Sky The Whaler The Weight Beggars Hurricane
Are we sure Deadbolt is going to win? To be honest, the live version (either live album) with the extended ending and Dustin's older raspier voice would take it for me, but the studio version......I'd take In Years, Kill me Quickly, Betrayal and Idol over studio Deadbolt. That would make a sweet short opening set. Love you for For Miles and Under a Killing Moon. No Burn the Fleet or Messenger though? To be fair, a top anything for Thrice is super hard so I can't blame you for messing up
Both great songs. The Messenger was considered, but I couldn't sub it out for any of these. Very hard list to make off the top of my head. Honestly it could change often, however For Miles and Under A Killing Moon wouldn't go anywhere. Those are top 5 Thrice songs for me.
Yeah, I hope it doesn't win. I don't expect it to either. I'd vote for most of the album over that song. I love it, but it's not my favorite by a long shot.
Deadbolt is the most overrated song in their entire discography, and I say that as a fan of Deadbolt.
Most overrated song in their discography? I'm gonna get hate but I think it's Beggars. Super simple song with an explosive ending, but one they use in a lot of songs like the ending of Hurricane, Broken Lungs, Promises, and The Window which all do it better.
"Deadbolt" would not get my vote. It's a good song, but probably closer to the middle of the songs on that record for me than the top.
I don't know if Beggars would crack my top 20 Thrice songs. It's great, but I don't think it's one of their defining or best songs. I didn't realize so many people rated it that highly in order for it to be overrated.
